Is it possible to install a 3 or 4 point racing harness temporarily on a C55 without any drilling or replacing OEM seatbelt mounting bolts?
Can it be mounted to child seat mounting points in the rear, and somewhere under the seat?

Usage would be for autocross, where the harness would be installed during the event only.

At any autocross event where that are turns . The stock seats do not provide enough lateral support, and there is no dead pedal in the car to plant your left foot securely for additional support. So you end up being tossed around with a deathgrip on the steering wheel, and you can't concentrate very well.

In fact any recommendation for being securely planted to the seat would be nice.

While I haven't done it or thought it out, if you don't want to drill any holes then you should get a racing seat and fab up some custom brackets to use the stock hardware and locations. Then unbolt it when you're done.

That would involve much more effort. Plus you still need to anchor a harness somewhere. You wouldn't anchor it to the seat.

The idea is to provide some solution that clips onto existing locations, i.e. existing belt buckles + something on the left side of the driver's seat, and rear left. No fabrication/modification should be involved.

stick velcro to the seat and stick velcro to what you are wearing. you'll stick to the seat like no other.

Great idea, though still requires some sort of permanent attachment to the seats.

After doing some searching around, seems like the following solutions are possible options starting from the simplest:

1. Push seat back about 10in, tighten stock belt to engage lock, push seat forward while holding in locked position, until it fits nice and tight. That should help.

2. Velcro belt that wraps around the seat and your chest for lateral support.

3. CG-Lock. Apparently this is some device that forces the lap portion of the stock belt to be always tight.

4. Schroth Quick Fit. Harness that for the most part uses the stock buckles, but still requires two endpoints to be mounted.

I have a sparco 3 point with a quick detach hooked onto the child seat ancors right at the rear head rests.

I noticed your post from a couple years ago. I am looking for a similar setup for with a temporary harness. Are the child seat anchors strong enough? were you using the loop behind the headrest or the isofix at the bottom of the seat? Just wondered if you could give advice based on your experience?

Slide the seat back slightly, twist once and then move seat into final position. I track that way and don't have any problems other than my head is jammed in to the liner.

i know there are tons of people in the non-AMG W203 section with the C class coupes taking out there seats and putting in non-mechanical racing seats. maybe try taking a look there and see what they have to say too.

...i just got my hands on a cg-lock and ill post up my personal experiences with it. Seems that it won't have any problem doing what its made for, but I'm curious how it is to live with in a daily driver.

I tried the CG-Lock and it worked quite well on the track. Held me in place as it was designed and really easy to put on and use. But I ended up taking it off for the street. To restrictive to reach for anything in the car. Also noticed that it would "hang" the seat-belt different when off and slammed the door on it a couple time... not nice for it and certainly not nice for the paint
