I did think about doing so, but it's a main support for the bottom section of the front bumper. Considering I have the front lip spoiler that adds a lot more stress to the area at higher speeds. Think it would be best left alone. I could see it now... Bottom section of front bumper tears off 140+MPH.

Got a daytime photograph of the new look on front end. In other news those extra two tabs on the bottom side of heat exchanger saved my front lip spoiler. Turn into a parking lot going 5MPH, and there's a huge groove in a little not noticeable at all. Slammed into it hard scratching up, and nearly cracking both sides of the front lip. Park, and inspect to find one of those tabs took a huge hit, and broke off!

I really need to find clear headlight lenses!!!

looks good, but yeah those headlights are yellow and gross!!!

I wish all C32's came with the updated Bi-Xenons, it makes your car looks 9999x better once you get some, or even projector depo's, the clear fogs and updated mirror turn signals look great too!

Considering what people originally payed for the C32 it should have no doubt... At one point someone was offering clear lens on ebay, but I didn't get them figuring I would do it later. Now you can't find just the lens anywhere. Thinking about checking local scrap yards for a wrecked c230, or c320 and buying the lens off it. I personally think the bi-xenons are too expensive. Would just do aftermarket HID H7 on my high beams if I were going that route. The C32 has the best light output of any car I've driven with the high beams on.

yeah well if you think the lighting is good, do not 'upgrade' to the depo's...the beam pattern is *****!!! If you were going to retrofit a new projector in there they'd probably be a lot better as Temjin did I believe...

So what kind of brackets did you have to make?
Also, I'm assuming you had enough slack from the factory hoses for the install, seeing as this H/E is smaller than factory.

I just cut up some straight brackets like in the photographs. Think the top OE line reached, but I had to add a new line for the bottom. This H/E is in no way smaller than factory...

That's good to hear, I ordered mine this morning, along with a Johnson CM30. I'm hoping to drastically reduce heat soak.. Okay, I'm not going to lie, part of this mod was done solely for the visual aspects..
Any tips to aid with the install?

What you will want to do is remove those bottom tabs with a dremel. It will not clear the underbody panel. The heat exchanger should be mounted as close to the impact bar as possible, and recessed back some to clear the front bumper. I used a longer bolt, and multiple nuts as a spacer to move the heat exchanger back some. I'm sure something better could be thought up, but it worked.

Did you happen to take any pictures during the process?
Like, maybe a picture of the spacer you made and what you bolted it to?

I might have. Will look into it for you. Look at the first page of this thread. The photograph where my car is torn apart. Notice the large impact bar? I mounted the brackets to the front of that, and spaced the exchanger back under the bar.

For sure man... Any questions? I'm buzzed up like ****, but it's all good LOL. Nice to see another follow in my path... :P

I like how you mentioned using this H/E for looks as well. I will tell you now my car get's 2x the amount of attention from the front as of H/E install... I notice almost every driver/passenger scooping out my whip in traffic... Love my C32. Show car with power to back it...

I did have another question, regarding the install. What kind of coolant did you use? I won't be doing a full flush like you, but I expect to lose a bit installing the H/E and the pump. Also, what's your opinion of the intercooler isolation? Have you noticed a significant difference? Needswings kit just seemed a bit pricey to me. Sorry for the ton of questions..

Put it this way... There's no point in upgrading the heat exchanger if you do not isolate the system. Don't matter how large of an H/E you install IAT will be the same on an un-isolated system as it is heated fluid from the engine coolant system. Coolant used was OEM mercedes however I do also recommend Zerex.

Dear gt4awd,

Saw the Frozen Boost website, there is another thicker heater exchanger which size is 26x7x3.5, 1.5th thicker, do you think it can fit into a C32 spoiler? I would like to purchase one.

Thanks for comment!

If you mount it far enough back you should be able to use the thicker H/E... I had to cut sections of the bumper to make the thinner one fit, but it could have been mounted back more...

Id really consider getting rid of that piece in the middle of the bumper.. It looks really ugly.

I was going to remove the piece in the middle when i upgraded my HE but I realised it really is needed for support quite a lot.

Or just install back the black mask back to the hole?

Personally I don't think it looks as good with the mask there, and it would also restrict air flow to a degree.

I cut that center black plastic piece and drive mostly without the black center mesh, I put the black mesh back in if I'm going to be driving a Good distance or on the freeway for a while to help protect the HE from getting smashed by chunk of rubber from a blown out semi-truck tire, or anything else that lingers on the freeway as a target for low cars.

Theres a pic on the first page. As much as that black piece supports the bumper I think it is a little overkill, the bumper is strong enough.
