Supercharger Clutch

right then,
i have noticed that when my car is running the pulley on the supercharger turns with a wobble and when i changed the belt i noticed that it can be pushed in and out a little, in other words the clutch has play in it.
is this normal if not can i change the clutch without buying the whole charger.
Thanks

might be the clutch bearing going south..., worse case is to get a new sc clutch, else is just a worn sc clutch bearing. you dont have to worry about the SC.

if it has play it might be the bearings. Maybe have that replaced first. I think someone has a good deal on the forums.

cheers~

I don't think a bad bearing would put any play in the clutch. First I'd check to see if the supercharger pulley bolt is torqued down to the correct specification (20nm). Then I'd examine the the backing plate on the pulley to see if the connections are worn. The pulley backing plate is sort of spring loaded to facilitate the magnetic engage / disengage function.
