My alarm stopped chirping

I parked my car in the garage Saturday afternoon after I got back from some holiday shopping. About 30 minutes later the alarm siren went off for no apparent reason. I turned it off with the key and forgot all about it. I didn't use the car again until this morning and for some strange reason now the chirping from locking and unlocking the car is gone. It used to chirp once when I unlocked it and 3 times when I locked it. The car still locks and unlocks fine and the lights flash but no beeping. I'd really like to get this fixed as I lock my car while walking away and listen for confirmation that it's locked.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

This is the Netherlands mod which can only be turned on or off through STAR.. Maybe previous owner had it done and somehow reset itself back to normal.. Any dealer should be able to re-do it for you, i got my xenon=present and the Netherlands mod for $50..

LMAO, yeah it went off real loud like that. Maybe I should check to see if a snake mistook it for cuddly little lunch plate and tried to eat it.

+1 or he should try the panic feature and see if the siren responds. do you know how to turn on this feature anyways? we have an 02' c240 that never did it, but my c55 does.

The alarm siren is fine, I checked that after it went off the initial time. Yesterday after work I went to the car and the seat/steering column wouldn't move. I pulled the fuse for it and everything worked again in that respect but still no "Netherlands" setting when I lock and unlock the car. I've got Service B due in 1200 miles so I guess I'll have them look into it then.

Mine did the same, but the alarm kept going off randomly. I need a new horn, but I just disconnected it for now.

I think you may need a new siren, had the same thing happen to me and installing a new one worked for a while. The one you helped me install didn't work for some reason and I'm thinking it's because of a corroded connection.

The alarm hasn't gone off on it's own since the day this happened. The siren itself still works, I've tested it a few times since then. Even though it still works and is audible, would I need to have it replaced?

Also, it's good to hear from you Albert. Got any plans for the holidays?

Well, now my alarm will not activate with my panic button. Guess I need to get that replaced asap.

Edit: Just talked to my warranty claim center and it looks like the alarm system is not covered, kinda pissed about that, so what should my first step be now?
