That guy obviously prefers Audi's as per his comments and It's geared to a more sedated crowd.
I am a bimmer and benz fan, and between those three, I'll take the M3.

I like these reports ... give our stealth car even more glamour
If you read these reports you have the feeling that the C32 is getting slower and slower by the day haha!
In our leage, the 4 door sedan, there is hardly any car that can match a C32 PERIOD !

''And now for the news: Minutes before we loaded up our test gear, Audi turned over a European-spec S4 for review.''

You can see that this is a fair test right? Two production US Spec cars versus a pre production European spec. car. Why not test a European spec M3 and C32 or wait for a full production US Spec S4.

Clearly this comparison is skewed.

I do not understand why everyone always gets roiled up when one of those comprassions turn up in car magazines.

It just an opinion of one journalist. On that particular day, with those three particular cars - we all know that cars vary within the same model, in his particular mood - this journalist chose one car over another.

Think of it this way. You have a choice between a redhead, a blonde and a brunette. All three are gourgeous, with some slight variances in private parts shapes and sizes - all are very good in bed, but to get to the next level will depend on your lovemaking skills.

Which one would you choose?

On what day?

After how many drinks?

Well said! Each car will suit an individual profile and taste. That's why we have Ferrari's, Porsche's, Lambo's, Lotus, AMG's, M's, etc, etc.

I agree that they are all great cars and depending on one's needs at the time of purchase one car may be more suitable to an individual than another.

That a magazine prefers one vehicle over another is fine by me.
They are entitled to their opinion.

However, when testing any product one should make sure that the tested products are on a level playing field. All I am saying is that there are differences between US Spec vehicles and European Spec vehicles.

Franco, unless magazine goes to the dealer and buys each individually, without disclosing who they are, there will always be sleepers supplied by manufacturers.

This has been done for decades. OEMs have press fleets of hand picked, hand tuned (power and suspension) cars. What we buy is not always what is advertised. So inreality all these magazine tests mean very little. They do not use true production cars.

Well said, Vadim.

and share a good news to those ODPS users :

ODPS + I/C Killed E39/M5 last Saturday by a C32 member here.
60 mph -> Vmax, V8 M-power was history.
But M5 is still outstanding a sport sedan.

Have no fear guys. Each car offers a unique experience and right now the tunability of the C32 is more attractive than the normal aspirated V8 and inline 6. For this reason most current S4 owners will not upgrade (?) to the new S4. I think most S4 owners are waiting for the new RS4 and hoping it isn't going to price itself out of the market.
