Aesthetics of C63 vs. C55

To a degree, I agree with some of you who think the C55 is a bit too understated. In my opinion, the "Performance Package" that was available in the German market from AMG Manufaktur (now AMG Performance Studio) was the PERFECT balance of aggressiveness and elegance. You can see in the pics below that it had the front bumper of the F1 Medical Car, carbon fibre rear trunk lip spoiler, and the bigger exhaust tips. Back in 2007, I was ready to spend big bucks to try to get the front bumper of the "Performance Package". Unfortunately, it was not possible, as AMG did not allow that bumper part to be exported out of Germany.

I LOVE this bumper on the C55, way more than the CLK63 bumper that some members have added to their cars.

PC Valkyrie’s reference library of AMG knowledge is prodigious. Appreciate him sharing morsels from it time and again.
Are those upgraded calipers peeking out from behind 19” wheels? Parts bin engineering and factory hot rodding at its finest.

It’s discouraging AMG hasn’t more fully emulated Porsche’s sonderwunsch marketing regime, the C63’s P030/031 packages notwithstanding. Porsche will sell, service, and provide ongoing technical support to any enthusiast with the checkbook to enjoy a GT3 RSR. Doing so continues to contribute substantially to its bottom line.

Never mind MB is best known in the States for comfy sedans, or that the CLK DTM and CLK BS didn’t sell too well.

I am biased towards the C55... but I must say... I like the sharp lines of the c63 more than smooth shape of the c55... but interior wise... its the C55 hands down! it feels special inside... and the feel of the w203 is just more inviting and comfortable... plus I CANNOT stand the back seats of the W204... hard as a brick! engine wise (off topic)...the 63 by far! lol

The C55 looks like a regular C class more than a AMG, the C63 has AMG all over it as soon as you look at it. My neighbor has a black C55 and i swear i didnt know until one day i got behind her and noticed the pipes and the badges.

So, so far all of the C55 owners think the C55 looks better than a C63. Shocking! Is this one of those "university funded" research studies that spends millions of dollars to determine the obvious outcome?

I like the C43 look better than the C55. idk but i dont really care about the looks of the C55 at all, mayb it's because it looks exactly like a C230 sport, and they are everywhere. But its just too curvy, not mean looking at all!!

u like the interior better? yeah u r definitely biased on that!!! The C63 seats are probably some of the best sports seats out there. And that steering wheel . The w203 interior looks like VW designed it! oh and I like the W202 interior better than any other C class. its much classier!!!

I agree with tasho, btw...the c55 has little to no AMG look to it IMO. It looks like a base model C230, which may be part of its sleeper appeal for some? The C63 looks carved out of billet aluminum. Mean and chiseled.
