Code 3 Intake install
Just installed my Code 3 intake, I can hear the S/C MUCH louder but not sure if I feel any real gains. Has anyone proven what actual gains the Code 3 intake gives. I also have a 178 Kleemann crank S/C.

Around 10HP gain until engine bay heats up then you either zero out or loss some HP due to higher internal air temperatures. The rear intake does make the supercharger much louder.

glad you like it. it's good for some low down power i noticed. also, to get a louder s/c whine, remove the weather stripping behind it on the top of the engine bay

Can't say I noticed an increase with mine, obviously with the sound and the weather stripping gone it sounds awesome. Am worried a bit about the intake heat on hot days doing more harm than good..

Brandon's (Code 3 founder) dyno tests showed 10 RWHP for the intake!!!

When I had mine on it definitely felt a little faster (10whp seems about right, maybe less). But like it was stated above, it sounds great and all but on a hot day think about where it is sucking the air from. It is almost all hot engine bay air, I decided the SL55 set up was more beneficial in order to make more power. For the money, especially if you make it yourself, the code3 style intake is good, but I would not say great.

+1, BUT at speed, the Code 3 does appear to lower Intake temps per the test /study below from the Crossfire forums

Re: DIY Performance Intake (Like Code 3's) - 12-25-2008 , 04:05 PM
Hey guy I did the diy code 3 cai about a month ago. Today i took some temp of air entering thur code 3 mod. With 65 degree odat at 60 mph crusing was reading 80 at c3 intake ,and 85 in oem intake hose. So i found when using the c3 diy mod the oem intake hoses are for the most part not being used to supply air to engine the c3 cancels out the oem. Sounds very good , But what effect on performance . Also when idling in traffic 64 0dat 186 at c3 and 119 at oem hose. Tomorrow i am going to seal c3 mod and take more readings . I bet that air entering sc will be very close to od
