55k kompressor project?
I must say after I saw hooleyboys c55 I was inspired to try to do the same. Can anyone guide me through what all exactly this kind of project takes? I have tried to get a hold of him and haven`t had much good luck. Does anyone know what all this will take?

GMP sells a kit (Kleemann for the 55 ) for about $9000. I imagine install would be $2-3000 so your looking at over $11 for a Kleemann install without a tune.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
*Here is what you need.
*Supercharger
*Intercooler
*surge tanks
*heat exchanger (Stock C32 fits perfect)
*55k water pump
*55k crank pulley (have an extra, and I'm sure a bunch of folks do to)
*55k supercharger belt guide pulley
*supercharger belt tensioner pulley
*55k thermostat
*modified 55 oil filter housing cooler section or 55k oil filter housing w/ remote cooler
*55k throttle body housing AKA pipeline (mounts to the back of the SC)
*tuning
*EGR block off plate (and fab place can make you one for $20)
*throttle body pipe line block off plate . Normally the intake bypass valve actuator goes connects to it.
*Intercooler block off plate. You also need to block off the bottom part of the bypass valve that dumps air before the Supercharger
* Two diverter valves. When the throttle body is closed you need to dump the boosted air from the surge tanks to AFTER the throttle body.
*NX throttle position sensor. Used for nitrous to engage at a set RPM. Wire this up to your 12v you run to the supercharger so when you let off the gas, the blower clutch stops boosting. If you don't do this you will tie the supercharger in a knot from back pressure shock.
*crank case ventilation filter (mini cone filter. it can be found at any chain parts store)
*intercool pump
*assorted hoses
*custom intake
*relocation of the secondary air injecton pump.
*two valves that mount on each side if the from of the supercharger. Don't know their names.
*MBH LTH.
In reality they will drop your boost to a bit safer level and make big power.here are some pics

pics of the valves in the front of the SC (don't know their name

Note how we looped the oil filter air to air cooler to for clearance issues with a some welded pipe that feeds the oil to the filter

Pic of the thermostat needed from a 55K

You best bet is to find a complete 55k motor swap oil pans if needed and do it that way.

IMHO, if you keep the C55 engine, you can probably have him do a Kleeman install^^^^^^. There shouldn't be any TCU issues. Find an new (old) autorotor and you're good to go.

Also doesnt the 55k get more power? I mean has any kleemann setup gotten more power than hooleys setup? I heard he set the c55 1/4 mile record.. 11.55 I think.
I did see one kleemann c55 rated at 600hp but I know its not in my budget... or if its even at the wheels or just at the crank..

It gets 0-60 in 3.8 but gets 0-100 in 12.5???

Give me a PM
Thank you for the kind words. I'd be lying if I said it was easy getting everything to look like it came that way from the factory but the end result makes it all worth it.
Go with the C63... I love my C55, but its light years ahead...
btw.. Cory has the last brand new Autorotor twin screw SC kit left in captivity priced at $9,995. If you don't grab it I'm sure somebody else will shortly. The install adds about another $2K so if Hooley's total parts and labor for the OEM 55k conversion is less costly then you might consider it. Although even Hooley has stated that the car will not exactly drive like stock afterwards. Richard who is the owner of Dynocomp and the builder of Hooley's C55 and also my current tuner told me that Hooley's retrofit costs a bit more than a Kleemann SC kit with install labor.

*** If I may interject, on the same dyno under the same DAs as mine, it actually dynoed a LOT less than that in Chicago, but this particular dyno is known to be a heart-breaker ***

As for me, I wouldn't want a 550whp C55. If all you can fit back there is a 265 tire, you are going to have really unsafe traction issues. I could spin the tires on the highway. It may sound cool, but its scares the crap out of you. I will say this, My C55 felt more stable at the top of the track than my SL55 does.
As for the Kleemann vs Retro-fit. I think the Kleemann SC kit answers some of the issues the OEM retro-fit can not. One being the the MAF sensor. The Kleemann kit has a much better option for the MAF. If you don't get the MAF placement right on a Retro-fit... Tuning will be a pain in the butt. With the Kleemann kit you dont need all these OEM pulleys and things of that nature. If said it before. If I was doing it again, It would be Kleemann all the way.
Robert, as for your car, We are finishing up the headers on your car this week. In fact its at my shop on the lift right now. The biggest issue, I would suspect is. Rich has to go through so many things. Even after dotting the I's and crossing the T's. Some issues may not show up until its on the dyno.
If the car is able to make 550whp, then it will make 550whp, However, if Rich feels it won't than it won't. Its hard to say at this point what exactly your car will make for power, but we will see in due time.
Will it be the new fastest C55? I hope so.. Will it be better than when you dropped it off? I hope so too.
I've got so much hardware on this car that I HOPE to get somewhere near what Ahmad has accomplished. Of course he has a ton of secrets up his sleeve on how to make the faster and also his driving experience. If I only gain 50rwhp with the header/exhaust upgrade and bump in boost and flow from 5psi to 8psi I would be satisfied. The dyno he sent me with a severe exhaust leak and 14+ AFR yielded a paltry 420rwp so if I get anywhere near 470-480rwhp, I would be a happy camper. Ultimately, it's the ET and trap that counts when I take it to Sac or Famaso this April. The carbon fiber hood and fenders, lighter wheels and rotors should also help. Rich says they can install all the CF exterior.
55. I could have went faster I think (even with a bad trans at the time) If I didn't mess with my rear camber by lowering my car. I had wheel spin on every run that day. The time is not on dragtimes. There is a video of the run on youtube. I tell you what though, I was two and a half 10ths fast at Famoso than I am in Arizona. Also I my AZ runs were all done with good camber (no wheel spin). What I would have given to run a few more times with the new trans and no negative camber. Oh well, That car was a lot of fun to drive, but I'm over it. It make for fun conversation over drinks.
