Weighed my AMG rims, talk about boat anchors
So I weighed my SL 55 rims the other days because I had to hack some more of the inner fender well out due to rubbing. Talk about heavy pigs!!! The rear 18x9.5 rim with tire was 67 lbs. The tire weighs 34 lbs so do the math. No wonder the car seems slower on light throttle. Gonna have to shell out for some TSW's, they claim 22lbs for the same rim.

Would be interested to see what the stock C55 rims weigh. Looked in the owner's manual as there are specs in the back on the rims but they only provide diameter and offset ratings, no weight. Anyone

FrankW said the stock C32 rim was 27lbs in this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...-question.html
So the C55 would be something close to that but a little heavier, maybe 30 - 32 lbs?

Most OEM rims are not lightweight forged because the cost would be too high, and are also beefier/heavier than they need to be because they need to withstand a lot of abuse. With terrible roads everywhere, last thing you need are warranty claims for wheels. In the end no one is going to notice except us enthusiasts.

I have a rear 18x8.5 wheel off my 2005 C55, its cracked and had to be replaced. Without a tire it weighs 25lb 10oz on my 50lb digital Fish scale.
