new TCU
Guys, need some help here.
If I think my TCU might be fried, I can just get one out of another C32 from a recycler and switch, correct?
Thanks

for an '02 car, it can only come from another '02 if you are buying used. if the tcu is new, it can be sourced from other years as well.

The tcu
is married to the ecu is married to the das. I don't think it is a vin range swappable unit.
You might want to confirm before dumping money on used uncoded unit.
You might also list why you think your tcu might be toasted.

I thought changing the TCU helped with the 1500 RPM shifting problem? I was going to purchase a used TCU online if I could find one from a newer model. (I have an 02)

Why I think my TCU fried
One day, car won't go into reverse, so had to push it out of garage. When in park, still seems to be in gear 'cause in park, when I rev the engine, it creeps forward.
When moving forward, seems to only run in 2nd gear (no power) supercharger won't switch on.
I assume all of this stuff (transmission, supercharger) can't go cablooey at once, so must be an electrical issue - so I think of the TCU.
Am I incorrect?
Please help.
Thanks

It sounds like it's in "Limp Mode" When the Mercedes detects something is seriously wrong it goes into Limp Mode to protect itself. Other members I'm sure can help you better solve this issue but it's a start.
You might want to do a search on Limp Mode and see what that brings up.
