anyone try HANKOOK V12 evo K110 tires?

Got these on my car. Great when its dry out. In the rain, its alright, but its a summer performance tire, so what do you expect. Theyre cheaper at discount tire, they are having a $60 rebate and a $30 rebate when you buy 4 tires, so it comes out to $362 for me, they offer free shipping. just a heads up, theyre on backorder for the rear tires so its gotta be special ordered.

Have they resolved the size issue and does it still affect the cruise control??

check the rpm, revs per mile for your oem tires and the ones u have now via tire rack on specs tab, the two must be close ie. 833 and 822 or the computer gets folled and cruise c wont work, FYI, thanx, mike

I'm getting at least two of these installed today.
Tell you the truth, I'm tempted to just buy rears, because the Goodyears in the front are still in good shape.
Will I be forced to install a huge wing and slam the car if I make this ricer move of mismatched brands?!

My trip to Discount Tire was sort of disappointing. First, my fronts were more worn than I thought. Then, although their computer showed EVOs in stock and reserved for me, they were somehow missing one in the shop.

I just didn't want to come back as I'm about to get busier in the weeks ahead. The guy was very apologetic and offered me a discount on the Dunlop Direzza. It's not as well reviewed but turned out cheaper and, surprisingly, made in Japan. I didn't think anything was made in Japan anymore!
I left with four. We will see how they do. Still want to try the Hankooks soon. And, if past history with this fire-breathing, tire-eating car holds up, it won't take long!

A comment on tread life with the Hankook's.
Due to a run in with a pot hole last week, which caused a bubble in the drivers side front tire, I was faced with replacing at least one front tire. I had these tires installed a little less than two years ago and they had only 9,100 miles on them
In deciding what to do (one front or both fronts), I figured I should measure the tread depth. The fronts were both around 5-6/32nds - roughly half the tread remaining. However, the rear's were down to 3/32nds. So that drove the decision - buy another complete set of 4 (which I got for $582 delivered from Discount Tire Direct - net of $80 rebate). So surprisingly, the tread life on the Hankook's - at least in my experience - is not much different than the OEM (Pirelli) tires. With the OEM's, I did the rears at 11,000 miles and the fronts were done at 17,000. That's when I changed to the Hankook's all around.
I do not go around spinning my tires, so its seems the rears just won't deliver more than 11,000 miles in normal driving. Now most of my driving consists of short trips of 5-10 miles in duration (to the gym, to the office, back home, etc...). I'm sure if I had a longer commute and spent more time on the highway I could do better in terms of tread life. However, for my short trips, the tread life on the Hankook's is not different than the Pirelli's.
That said, at roughly 1/2 the price, and with similar performance, I'm sticking with them.
Thought I would share my experience.

2005 C55 AMG, 2010 VW GTI (Stage 1)
After researching online and reviewing feedback on the forums, I got the evo's back in July and have been really happy with them. I've driven them slow, driven them fast, driven them dry and driven them in the rain... basically everything except on the track. And I've been really happy with their grip (especially in the rain, they perform significantly better than my Toyo T1R's), and cost less AND last longer, as covered in the posts above. Anyways, thought it might be helpful to give some additional feedback. Also, I have recommended these tires to a number of other AMG drivers in my area, and generally people have been pleased with them.
You all helped me with my decision and hopefully others will benefit from our feedback and be able to make their own informed buying decision!

2006 C55 AMG White/Ash
I just ordered four tires for my company car today at Discount Tire Direct and through tomorrow they have a $50 discount for Black Friday. They still include free shipping and they didn't raise the prices to make up for the $50 discount. I've searched every site I could and have yet to find a better price shipped.

The hot track setup for the dry is the Hankook RS3, see Grass Roots Motorsports test in conjuction with the tire rack.
Best rain tire is the Continental DW.
I run the Conti's for winter, have a few thousand miles left for track on my Direzza star specs, they are a good all around tire.
