I got bored looking at a blank shift knob so I went and got an amg logo to put on top the shift knob. I also got a black star too. I would like to get some feedback on what looks good. The amg logo, the star, or just leave it alone? Sorry if the pictures come out large. I could not resize on my work computer.

Got it at www.formymercedes.com. It is basically a cap that has an adhesive on the back. This was the closest I could find that looks similar to the slk55 black edition cap. If you just want the cap you have to e-mail them since it is not on their website but you can see the pictures of them there too under shift knob.

Tell them Doug sent you. (I always wanted to say that).

AMG Emblem for sure. Installed the same one in my car about 2 months ago. Really dresses up the top of the shift knob.

It's about time the aftermarket stepped up. I paid ridiculous money and it took months to arrange getting from the AMG client shop.

I think both the black star top and affalterbach crest are the hottest stock knobs you can get. The affalterbach really is hot and what I would have preffered, BUT my black star top and chrome trim knob from a W209 looks fantastic in my interior.

just checked on the price. The price seems a little steep for a sticker. is it at least etched metal?

I don't think it is metal. It did not have a metal resonance to it when I was tapping it. It is not a sticker either. Two two caps I had I think seem like it was plastic.

Got mine in the post a couple days ago.....had to replace the double sided tape it came with as it was too thick!! Will take some pics after I get it installed.

Affalterbach crest looks the best, and almost factory to the car as a nice subtle touch.

You can buy the real CLK Affalterbach crest shift knob, but its a bit pricey...

Here's a couple of pictures.

So I had to replace the double sided sticky tape that came with the emblem as it was way too thick. Also, because of the curve of the emblem does not quite match the curve of the shifter, I had to put more tape around the edge of the emblem.

As you can see from the pictures, the emblem does not sit flush with the shifter, but IMO it looks pretty good
