Weight of C55 hood and fenders
Does anybody know the weight of the C55 OEM hood and both fenders?

I ordered the vented fiberglass hood and pair of fenders and will have a professional body shop paint and install them however I have no idea how much weight I will shave. It shipped on Tuesday of last week and should show up any day now. I will post pics after they are painted and then again after they are installed on the car.

Because I wanted to match the Iridium silver of my car. They don't make them in Silver CF and even if they did the shade of silver would not match.

I don't want that ricer look on a german sedan.

You could have just painted over the CF. If you're going for weight savings wouldn't that be lighter?

The fenders are vented also. Maybe a little too aggressive looking but Lorinsers are also vented and widely accepted.

Actually, the CF is laid over FG so CF is actually heaver but stronger.

Somewhere I read that the front fenders may be aluminum? I haven't had the guts to stick a magnet to my fender and have it grab and chip the paint

Couldn't you try sticking it to the inside of the fender.

+1, that would be too easy Or use a piece of felt between the fender and magnet or a paper towel??

I used 2 different types of magnetic levels and it sticks to the drivers side fender. Attached is a pic.

Look ma' no hands... lol

I got the hood and fenders in last night but was too tired to open the packaging. I'll do that today and post some pics. I will then take them to my body shop and have them weigh them. After the OEM hood and fenders are removed, they will weigh them too and I should know the net weight savings.
