Can I test my amplifier?
Amplifier got wet, and before I buy another one I am curious if there is a way to check if its still alive and working?
I removed it today, and the fuse seems to be fine, but I am electronically stupid, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

there is a way to make it turn on by using a 12volt transformer and hooking up that way with the remote, ground, and hot, but the issue is how would you know if it were on? aftermarket amps have LED's on them to notify you, these probably don't.

Before you do, I suggest you take it out, open it up (if possible) and dry it out with a hairdryer.

It is the factory amp, and there was a leak from the push pins that go into the part of the trunk and it got wet.
Ill have to look into that, thanks

Just bumping this thread, I lost my amp to a trunk leak too (having it repaired), had my wife drive the car thru a car wash while I laid down in the trunk with a flashlight and all the trim removed, and saw that the leak really wasn't coming from the push pins holding down the plastic - it came pouring in from sheet metal joints in the corner, upstream of the push pins. I disassembled the trunk seal/trim, and figured that the leak was getting in under the rear glass or along the seam in the corner. The car's never been wrecked, and the amp repair shop said they get a lot of these amps with water damage, so I'm going with the assumption that it's common in W203's and a design flaw. Anyway, I've caulked with window sealant and am hoping that does the trick, don't want to pay another $250 to repair the amp...

I can just sell you mine for dirt cheap. I just did a new head unit and removed my amp cd changer and head unit. I see what people are charging for these and I think its way to much for another Benz owner, we get raped enough at the dealer. Pm me if you want it!

w203 amp problem HK logic 7
Hey,
I have a 2005 MB c320 with the Harman Kardon Logic 7 system. I get no sound from the system even though all of the lights on the unit and functions appear to work. I think my amp is bad! Where is the amp in my car? Is it in the passenger side of the trunk? Does anyone know where I could get a new amp or have mine repaired?

Becker Auto Sound wants $700 to fix my amp!
Becker Auto Sound wants $700 to fix my amp! Does anyone know of any alternatives? I don't think I can go aftermarket without having my entire system replaced.
