bedding in C55 brakes akebono pads

hi all
have searched there seems to b 2 trains of thought normal method brake 8 to 10 hard apps then drive to allow to cool down. second method just drive normal for 500 miles what do u guys think went to a lot of effort to get akebono pads in aussie & want to do it right thanks

U could do the first method (sorta unsafe to do it on public road imo) but 2nd method would do the job as well..

Akebono says bedding in is not required, but I did something like it anyway.

What are you so concerned about? You shouldn't be worried unless your trying to bed the brake pads on previously used rotors. That still won't be a problem, you just need to make sure they are properly bedded with the old rotors to prevent squeaking.

I have always used your first method for all of my cars, and all different manufactures of pads.

The key is to get them HOT, but not faded. AKA you should be able to smell the brakes with the windows up.

Note: Be careful were you do this, and be safe. Also allow at least 5-6 miles of NO stopping after-wards to let them cool.

Allow the car to sit over night, and walla, no squeaks, and great breaking
