Will do. Pretty excited to install them but not sure if I will wait until I actually need to change my brake pads or not. They could probably used to be changed soon but they aren't low (referring to both front and rears) and, if I recall correctly, I don't think Viper (frequent user here) needed to change his stock pads until 70,000 miles (my car has 45,000). Decisions, decisions on how to best go about this...

lol idk if being called out as a frequent user on here is a compliment....

But yes, my front pads were due at 75k (and they still had life, and the rotors only had 0.5mm wear) and the rears were half left. Theres no record of new pads and they were OEM, so that's my story as far as I know.

Cory: thanks for the solid communication, reasonable price, and quick shipping! The rotors look great and are authentic AMG branded. A pleasure buying from you.

To anyone interested in this, I will post pics when the installation is complete. It might be a few weeks until I get around to this and get all the parts I need. I'll admit, this was an impulse buy and I wasn't planning on changing my brakes or rotors for another 10,000 - 30,000 miles unless it became necessary. However, I figure that since I have these brand spankin' new cross-drilled rotors, I might as well save myself a hassle down the road and do the set up right. That being the case, I am going to purchase new rear pads, install the rotors, and paint the rear calipers silver to match the fronts. This way I'll know exactly how many miles have been put on the rotors and brake pads. When its all done it should look great! Now I just have to find the time...

Well, finally installed my new rotors and akebono rear brake pads and painted the calipers. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera (not into photography) so I took the pics on my Blackberry. This is the best I can do for now. The rotors turned out to be great. Combined with the silver paint on my calipers, they really put the OEM rear C55 brake setup to shame. I feel like the rear brakes now look like they should looked have straight from the factory. In terms of brake feel, no performance difference noted, but I didn't expect any with this modification. I wish I had a better camera so I could get a clear shot of how the side profile of the C55 is improved with the silver calipers and cross-drilled rotors in both the front and the back matching one another. To anyone interested in doing this DIY, I would highly recommend it. I will say that if people really want to make their rear brakes "pop", they might consider upgrading the entire rear brake rotor set-up assembly. What I mean to say is, although my replacement cross-drilled rotors look great IMO, the rear brake rotors are still much smaller than the giant front AMG rotors. A really good look would be to install larger rotors in the rear (I think this would involve buying a new rotor housing/backing and possibly some other parts) to really counterbalance the front rotors. Either way, I am very happy with the improved look. What do you guys think (I know the photos are poor)?

Also, changed my differential fluid at the same time I did the brakes. 1.5 quarts of Mercedes bottled SAE 85w-90 oil. The stuff that came out was black but didn't look quite as bad as I expected (still had some transparency to it). I have 45,000 miles on the odometer for those curious. All in all, it was very easy DIY. Just make sure you have the right size hex socket (14mm) and some good lifts/ramps.

And lastly, as a very nice treat to end a relaxing Easter weekend, out of nowhere I receive the second spare key that I never received (nor was ever discussed at time of purchase) from the dealership I purchased my vehicle from (Luxury Cars of Charleston). See the last pic. It was a great surprise because I had no idea it was coming and I had been thinking about paying the $350-450 to get a new key when I could force myself to do it.

Perhaps Cory might chime in here (or perhaps not, I am sure Kleeman gets hooked up by Brembo with a sweet price on the drilling).

Mine bedded in perfectly actually. I warmed them up during normal driving for 10 minutes, then did about 6-7 quick runs from 60-65mph braking hard to 5-10mph (without engaging the ABS). After the drive the rotors had a nice ashen shade to them indicating the brake pads had been "broken in". No squeaking whatsoever either.
