engine swap-c55 to e55

i know this i sa much debaited subject. but i need your guys help.
i justed pick of a smokn deal on a 2005 c55 with 75k miles.
i was also given a great deal from a buddy on an e55 motor.

i want to swap them.i know the transmissions are the same.and the motor will drop right in no problem.

my questionb is with the ME. can i use the stock c55 or buy a new one for the e55 motor. map. vs maf concern.

if i used the c55, how to change so it see the two map sensor on the intake tubes of the e55, verse the maf sensor on the c55.

any ideas on what im missing?

It's not easy as installing a type R in to a civic but it has been done..
IMO, it's just better to go with the kleemann or buy E55..

Didn't hooley just installed a SC from an e55 engine? Didn't know he swapped the motor..?

You are right but the ECU and MAF vs. MAP issues are the same.

If you do the engine swap you will need an E55 ECU, EIS, wiring harness, and possibly a new key. If you can get all that from the other car, you're golden.

contact rcompart and get out your checkbook. he is the guy who transplants the s/c v8 into the crossfires. key start and all the electrics can be done by him as well as the mechanical installs.

As said, the physical swap is pretty easy. Have to add the heat exchanger and intercooler pump and plumbing. Contact Accelerated industries. He can help with the ecu. Get a used 55k ecu and have it unlocked and recode it to your car. This can be done without braking the bank.

Where are you located? I have someone who did this swap and could probably do yours...all the wiring and Electronics part of the swap was done by my tech. Speedriven drop the motor in the bay and is doing the Tunin for this monster, LM 24 out in long island did all the manifolds and piping, turbo allocations, oil pumps.

Thumbs up

This is actually my next project within the next 4 months when I will purchase another C55.

I will transplant an E55K engine which will be tuned on top. (Expecting around 600hp) The price is expensive but well worth it IMO. You get an extremely reliable car much better than the Kleemann version since the C55 engine was not designed for a Kompressor.

However, I will also install the entire rear axle with the LSD from the E55K. The work will be done by Vath in Germany.

IMO, the point to tune the C55 instead is because you will get a better handling car than the E55. Much lighter and also faster so it could be worth the price. At least for me it makes sense since I really like the C55

BTW, the transmissions are not the same. Your C55 tranny will not be able to shift under the torque of the SC. there are options such as swapping out the solenoids and TCU tune but ultimately it will not last.

Yup good point.

At first I thought it was the same transmission but it's not. Would you happen to know the difference? Is it just stronger on the E55 simply?

In my case I will transplant the engine, the transmission and the entire rear axle. I believe the E55K as a special Limited Slip Differential correct?

Talk to Hooleyboy as well about the transmission. He has modded the stock transmission tune. He claims it will hold up to 600hp with his tune and the blue solenoids.

This is a great swap and can be done. I wouldn't change the trans. you just need to add the engine and assocaited parts such as heat exchanger, and pump. You would want to use the harness from a 55K engine and also a 55K ECU. the ECU can be unlocked and programed to the car with SDS in developer mode.
