I have just aquired my first amg c55 2004. having a number of teething problems, would appreciate some help.

Small coolant pump (electric) mounted on the coolant expansion tank, seems to have stopped working. The bracket is burned and smells bad!!!

What is the pump for? do i need oem replacement? any one had the same prob?

I get the warning Coolant Visit Workshop on the dash and the cooling fan is running constantly even from cold start.
