The growing success of AMG
Regarding the mudguards, they are factory MB installed at the dealership. If you have a C-Class accessories catalog, you will see them pictured within.
They sure have eliminated the stones from hitting the car. The guards trap a lot of debris, hence confriming their effectiveness. MB had them designed perfectly, directly or indirectly.
We are quite happy with this application and would never be without them.

"Deliverance" Alabama? Like in the Burt Reynolds movie? Yikes!
As far as the mudguards not fitting the C32, I cannot see why the rear panels on the C32 would be any different than the other C-Class sedans. The differences are elsewhere, not bodywork.

Let me clarify, then.
While there may be slight cosmetic degrees of variance in the front bumber (only to offer subtle distinction) as well as the rear bumper tail-pipe opening (versus other C sedans), the essential body panels are the same.
This is certainly true for the critical or specific areas that will come into matter with your mudguard application. The area of the side panel that trails the front wheel as well as the area of body panel that trails the rear wheel are essentially the same.
Any slight differences (though despite having several of these in front of me all day has revealed no such differences), are surely not enough to offset your mudguard fitting.
The C-Class accessories brochure ("The Collection"), indicates not a hint of incompatibility for a C32 application. C-Class fenders (where it matters for your purpose) appear the same.
In any event, if someone has convinced you that the factory MB mudguards will not apply to your car, then go for another mudguard. I'm sure there are others that will do the trick. Protect the rear panels at all costs, especially as reports surface about the frailty of the clearcoat paint.
