2002 C32 Rain Sensor?
How can I tell if I have the rain sensor?
I was told when I bought the car (used, obviously) that it had the sensor. When I put the wiper in position #1 it will go intermittently but at equal time in between. It doesn't seem to be "sensing".
Looking at where the sensor would be from the outside of the windshield, I think it's there, but not sure. What does the sensor look like?

Upon replacing my windshield, I had the same problems. After the second-rate (hindsight 20/20) installer messed up the sensor, I worked on it myself. It turns out, you get exactly the same fault if the sensor is unplugged. I would say then, that the sensor is either unplugged or requires replacement.

3 months on this web-site, that was my first post. Dig that you're a vigilante, but save it for the bimmer drivers, my man. By the by, I did manage to get the rain sensor calibrated at a local shop on the cheap ($110, vice the arm & leg stealership wanted). Apparently, this is only possible if they have the star diagnostic system.
