High mileage owners please read!

Hi guys,
There has been so much debate on what type of oil to run in these cars. I figure one of the best data can be had by the owners who have high mileage cars that are still running well.

What type of oil have you been running and how often do you change it?

Since you talk to me like I was born yesterday and do not know how to use the search button then I have another question.

Do you ever need to change the oil in your car?

Did I talk to you like you were born yesterday? Sensitivity is a nice trait.

Nope, you're good to go. Third owner?

I have and will always use Mobile 1. Also 0w - 40. I've thought about running 5w - 40 but I don't think it would make that big of a difference.

Change the oil ~8k miles or so. My master tech says I should go to 10k though.

5w-40 theoretically would give you better pump up of the lifters on cold days than 0w-40. Also, 5w-40 is made for diesels so it has a higher detergent concentration. From what I can tell, the C55 does run a little dirtier especially if you are the throttle so cleaning deposits is a good thing.

My oil consuption was rediculous after 5K on 0w-40 so I switched and now only add a high quart between changes with frequent track miles.

It's anecdotal, but I seem to have the opposite experience. When running 5w-40 I seem to have more clatter when cold, and by cold I mean Arizona winter cold (I.e. 50 deg). Can't say for certain that it's the valves but it seems quieter with 0w-40. Thinner oil circulates quicker.
