I have the famous ticking noise coming from under the center armrest. What i have read is that the sound is from the heat-shield isolation to sag down when warm.
I know what the problem is. But now, how do i fix it?
Can someone try to make step by step instructions or maybe post some pictures?
I would like to fix this today and if someone answers to this you made my day

"Put car on jackstands, unbolt metal cover behind tranny and slide back over drive shaft - no need to remove. Trim small piece of black insulation hanging down and contacting driveshaft with a pair of robust scissors."
Is that what you call DIY?

The DIY is correct and this happened to me. However, a more complete fix is just as easy. Jack up the car, no need to remove the engine belly ban, but remove the bolts (I think, 6 bolts with 8mm heads) that hold the heat shields (there are two) between the exhaust pipe and the drive shaft. Then carefully, wiggle them free and pull them out, noting their correct position. Take a look and determine which part of the heat shield is making contact with drive shaft and cut or bend it, as needed, to get it back into shape. Replace and rebolt and your done.

Problem fixed!
I thank you for the help.
1. Unscrewed the two heat-shields over exhaust and slide them back over the exhaust ( no need to remove ).
2. Located black isolation that sat "sagged" down due to bad glue, touching the shaft. ( located over the shaft )
3. Pretty tight in there, i cut out the parts of the isolation that where touching the shaft.
4. Put everything back. its a done deal
