2M in Cars siezed in Canada street racing event
yikes.... Good hype to sell some papers i guess, but when you sieze 2m from wealthy people, collectively, I imagine there will be some serious behind the scene lawyer upping ...

I see that some parents will be very upset since all the drivers were under 21.
edit: my money is on the 2012 GTR being the fastest in that group.

This happens on a regular bassis in Toronto, Ontario. If you go to court and get a good lawyer, there's no way any of those charges will stick as the result of a witness testimony. It's complete BS. I'm surprized they were able to issue tickets at all. Usually when people complain and report wreckless driving or street racing, the police would try to find these cars and observe them racing, then they can nail them with charges. Otherwise, they've got nothing on any of them. Inorder to be charged with street racing, the conditions have to be very specific. If the cops didn't see it, it didn't happen. Money has to be exhanged (bets made or some kind of wager) and the race has to be from a dig. Driving side by side from a rolling start isn't considered street racing. You would just get nailed for wreckless driving or what they call "stunt driving" over here.

These clowns wont get their cars seized as the cops didnt see the incident and gave them reckless drving tickets. I also read that only two of the people cited actually owned their cars.
BC dont play around when it comes to speeding and DUI's. Two drinks and your legaly above the limit. Glad i left that place.

and yes, the new DUI laws up here are ridiculous....blow above 0.05 and you're done!

Talk about a **** state, 5,700 cars seized in the last year for racing??? If they wouldn't have shut down all the autox circuits, allowed westwood to close for housing developments, they wouldn't have these problems. Glad I moved out of there!
