For anyone running a 275 tire
(post if you are running a 285 as well)
What offset are you running and how often do you rub (assuming stock fender's and such). If you had fender work done, what did you have done to prevent rubbing?
Thanks,
Pat

I'm in the same place, but due to rolling diameters and lack of availability for the tires I want, I'm going to wait until I need tires again and get some 285's and get my fenders ready to run them

I am running SL 55 rims, 18x9.5 with ET 33. Will will have to take a small abrasive disc and trim the plastice and roll the fender. They will contact at the top of the lip and the front and back of the body molding line. Definitely worth the investment though.

I'm running 275/30/19 on Bridgestone RE-11s on a 10" wheel. The suspension stock and I don't know the offsets on the wheels. It rubs a lot if there are any passengers in the back or if I go over big bumps. I'll be dropping back down to a 265 tire next time. 275 is too wide for the car and makes it understeer even more.

So with stock wheels, you rubbed on the outside? Location of rubbing would be a great thing to point out.
(Thanks kent426 that was just about exactly what I needed to know)

It would be good information to mention the brand of tires everyone is currently using as there are most definitely differences between tires of the same specs. For example, try putting a Toyo Proxes T1R up against, say, Continental Sport Contacts or a Falkin and you'll see what I mean. My 255/30/ZR19s are some of the most narrow tires for a 255 width that I've seen. Granted they are good tires, but, I definitely would be able to run a 265 or even 275 with no problems. The rounded sidewalls of the Toyos (great if you're lowered btw) contributes to the narrow appearance. Anyways, I'm sure you get the point...

^I have a feeling my Continental DWS's run pretty narrow, but its a good point I'd like to hear what tires and the exact specs.
@Juan: Did you have any problems running the 275/35 in terms of the speedo or traction control? It just seems the diameter is pretty large compared to stock.
Same question I guess goes for those running 265/35-18's

Go to Tire Racks website, tire specs can be compared on there in terms of actual tire width and tread width.

I recently installed 275 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on my W209 and I had a little rubbing. I ground away at the fender and now have no issues. You can see the pics in the w209 tire stance/fitment thread here:

Actually I did. When the tires(275) were new my cruise control would not engage over 40mph. When they write some it worked fine. No issues with the 265's.
