Had another argument with an M6...

Ran into another M6 on the freeway. This one was a convertible. Late night in Mexico.

He started the argument. Three honk at 40. We took off. He got the jump, but I was able to reel him in and at about 90, I started to creep away. Slowly...but was able to creep away. Went up to about 140 before I stopped. He kept going, probably because he was pissed.

After that, he slowed down and wanted a rematch. Same start...same result. A good night need. And for all you naysayers who say it isn't possible...it is.

Let the flame war begin.

I'd love to read the youtube comments of a video showing a C32 pulling from a M6 :-)

IDK my friends dad has an M6 and they are fast as hell but if you say so. Then again you do have quite a few mods so it may be a race...

Anything is possible. I gave a blue Gallardo a really good run in the Kleemann the other day and the guy was cool enough to give me a big thumbs up. I think the M6 will in general take a C32, even modded, BUT like anything, there's so many factors. It can be too little air in tires to bad driver in wrong gear to bad gas to just about anything that factors in a race. I've beaten some cars I never thought I'd beat in the C32, (Maserati, Carrera C4S, many C5 Vettes) BUT some cars have also hung with me like a turbo 350Z.

When we used to go to Morrocco, one of the guys had a M6 convertible and I too like the above ^^^ could hang right with him till about 110 when he really started pulling on me. A modded C32 can really surprise a LOT of people. The C32 is like a sharp surgical knife whereas the Kleemann is more like Thor's Hammer. Truly different cars.

As an aside, the one thing that really slows the C32/55 classes if you will is the trans. I believe that with a better trans (7 or 8 speed SMG/DSG type) we could take a lot of cars. The slushboxes we have just dont really cut it. Porsche really has their auto down with the TT.

Maybe this new TCU tune will help our trans out a little bit!

Nice kill though!

I love the story. I mean the "fact"!

Don't let those bmw see this. They will blab blab bla calling you out to race for $$$

For bmw drivers, it was just the driver

So, when they call you out, you race them!! Its that simple. I fear NO car and will race anything. I may get beat, I may not. He could blow a rod or his drivetrain (see that M3 video posted here last week) on the launch and guess who wins?? I mean there's obvious limits to anything, I am not going up against a 997.2 TT or a Veyron, BUT anything can be fair game. Have you guys ever seen Jake's white E55? Its a gorgeous car and is such a debadged sleeper. He's beaten Lambos with that thing. Who would've thought?? He wouldn't know he could beat a Lambo unless he had raced one.

I don't doubt it, you probably have the one of the most modded C32's that still post on this board.

Thanks, i love the car, i don't want to sell it, so my next winter project is the 55 kompressor on the C3.2 engine

Make sure you use the 55k intercooler, should help with the flow. Are you running cams? Any plans for ported heads? I think jerry's old car made less power because the supercharger was not boosting enough.

i don't want cams nor ported heads, i am not looking for 10-15 hp, instead of cams or ported heads i'll spend the money on the 55 komp with pulley and i think i can get 100bhp more.
as for the IC, i must use the c32 IC on the 55komp for fitting issue, i have looked for everything(550cc injector, 55k amg tanks,...) by the way C32 IC has 95% same dimensions as 55k one.

This surprises me. Maybe the M6 was in the wrong gear?

I have seen M6s walk 911 Turbos.

did you do any research ? would it be somewhat of a plug and play beside the ecu and stuff? I have been contemplating on this project.

good kill

fwiw:

I was only half car lentgh behind a e90 m3 from 60 - 135+

we were neck and neck the whole way.. I was so surprised

Also, took an m6 in a stoplight race up til like 80...

and im stock with res delete and coilovers only.

Anythign can happen.. and i think the c32s up top are stronger than people realize.

996 or 997?? I doubt it. Particularly the 997.2 with Sport Chrono. Over boost will kill an M6.

So, a 10 year old C32 with what looks like an ECU flash and headers "killed" an M6? OK..............

I don't think the OP used the term kill, BUT what he did is possible. Probable, NO, possible, yes. Maybe he got the jump on the guy, who knows. He's a long time poster and I have no reason to disbelieve him.

Like I said in my post above, on any given day, any car can be beat (within reason) for many factors that go into a race. I outpulled a twin snail C5 Vette a few years back by about 2 cars on a launch and then he just kicked my *** and reeled me in. Yes, I got beat, BUT I gave him a helluva run. Again, anything's possible and I don't doubt this unless it was a rebadged 6 Series he was racing??

OH, XXAARAA, looks at his mods. He's got a LOT more than an ECU Flash and headers. His mods probably make him close to 400 RWHP. See: Resonator delete, Green Air Filters, New ECU Reflashed Powerchip tune, Code 3 Pulley, Phenolic Spacers, SL 55 Y-pipe conversion, secondary cat delete, RZR Tuning Stainless Steel Headers

I notice that some of the haters are non-AMG MB guys. A lil jealousy going on here perhaps??

It was a 996 X50 stock. Once over 100mph the M6 started to walk it.

Well, that clarifies it a bit. However, a 997.2 with the Sport Chrono......NO way!! (assuming neither modded).

From a digg, nothing this side of a GTR will touch a 997......and even then, NOT a GTR.
