today was the first time i use drag radials (kumho 17x8) along with my 19" BBS in the front.
i had 8 runs today.
5 runs were all consistent 2.2 60', 13.6 1/4mi, 105.5 mph. I warmed up the drag radials for a good 6-8 sec. every pass. i tried running the drag radials at 21 psi at first , then down to 18psi, then 28 psi all with same results. what's messed up is i ran 13.4 last time i was at this same track with my street tires. and i've ran 13.3 at california speedway w/ street tires. heck, i ran 13.5 when my car was completely stock.
the other 3 runs were so horrible w/ 60' time ranging from 2.4-2.7, 1/4mi times not even worth mentioning.
i screwed those 3 runs up pretty bad by giving way too much gas off the line. and one of those runs, i ran with another c32. i got smoked pretty bad. i think he had atleast 6-7 cars on me, maybe more.

found some additional info on those kumho drag radial i got.
they come in 3 different format; full thread, heat cycled & shaved.
i got the full thread. i'm suspecting that's why i wasn't hooking up like i expected. not sure though.
anyone out there know for sure?

white and whiter
there could be many reasons. the first could be that your car has 19" front running gear. that's a disadvantage if he has stock running gear. AMG said that they found the quickest and fastest form is to have the C32 run on 17". that's why they are stock 17". the second could be that if he's not running on stock, he could be running on racing tires which are not legal for street use on all four, which you should know what racing tires can do and help. third, if you both are running on the same size, it's probably that kumho does suck. Or maybe the other C32 has crazy mods...

A couple possible issues if those were competition tires, but I don't know enough about your situation:
1) heat cycling: you probably should have had it done
2) if you used ecsta v700, they probably needed to be shaved
I didn't know they made drag radials, so I'm probably wrong about all of this, but there's something to look into.

Peter, Kumho V700 is a road-race tire. It has a very hard side wall. For drag racing you need a very soft side wall.
I am sorry I did not know which tire you got when I saw you on Friday.

Seems like you guys are having all the fun over there. Over here in Belgium it is hard to get time on a race track. We dont even have drag strips at all ! So no wonder lots of illegal street drag racing is going on (especially in Holland).
I went to the Belcar GTA in Spa yesterday and the vipers dominated the 4 hour race followed by the porsches. There where 2 neat cars that caught everybody's eyes.
1. A Mini with an M3 engine
2. a VW bora with the new V10 diesel engine
I don't know where they ended up because I left before the end of the race.
There was not even 1 MB car in the race
If I win the lotto tommorow I will turn my C32 into a GTA car haha !

I was the other C32...
I was the other c32 Peter is talking about at the track. I am on street legal tires. I was using 91 octane. as far as mods I have filters, the Sl55 y piece, ( thats my motor in the pic in the post) Evo sports ODPS , and some tweaking that i thought of....
I only ran him once, that run I went 13.0 and I believe he went 14.0.
My best to date is 12.8 at 109
It was a very fun day!
I was really excited to see another C32 at the track!

the track....
I would definetly not reccomend the nitto's, I think they are horrible! They are great for about 2 weeks then they are a pile of sh*t. And also my tires are bald as hell, Vadim, Charlie and Peter have all seen them!

Vader 13 - Yes. Quit racing M3s

Seen that... done that ... screaming through the window.
After racing a 8 cyl Lexus the guy wanted to know what's inside the hood. Screaming at eachother on the highway doing about 150 kmh is not adviseble and cops may not like it !
