poor radio reception and loss of range on smart key

poor radio reception and loss of range on smart key
My C32 is 2months old. I hate to have problems already. Anyways today, I lost radio reception and I have to point my smart key remote at the door handles in order to open and lock the doors! I did a forum search and it looks like I have a bad RF antenna amplifier. I really hope I dont have to have the rear window taken out to have this fixed. That would suck! It seams like such a difficult job to fix something so easy. Any advice would be helpful before I call my dealer this Monday.

Sounds like your problem is the "one" you are thinking about.
"The RF is out at the car" , this is not a real common problem, but a few cases have been posted.
Quick test: do both keys have the same problem? Is it repeatable, and can you easily show the dealer?
If BOTH fail then yep that is it. RF is not working at the car. The rear window RF antenna amplifier has lost its connection or the amp is dead. Be sure the dealer understands the exact problem and the LIKELY fix, and has the parts in hand. Even so they have to at least remove the headliner etc. Poor design, but.
On pickup check both keys from 40 feet or so, and be sure the headliner is PERFECT, as are the pillar panels etc. One day job at the minimum.

Thanks for getting back to me
Yeah, Both keys do not work from far away.
I have to point the keys right at the door handle so the the IR can read it.
This sucks! Hopefully they moved the RF amplifier to an easier place to get at.
Btw, I didn't tint the windows.
