hi all, getting some 18"s for the car and am wondering which brand to go for. the pilots are on a deal, and as such are cheaper than the s03s for now. the pilots on my 17"s are very quiet and comfortable, just worried that the s03 might be way too noisy.

Sire,

I just got rid of a set of low mileage SO3's in my SLK 320, because I could not stand the tramlining they were inducing in my car.....

Depends on how you drive and what you prefer...

I like to hammer corners... the Pilot Sports don't seem to appreciate that as they just Scream. The S03's don't seems to mind the punishment and hold very well in the corner. I like S03's in the rain too.

However, if this kind of performance is less important and other comfort factors are of higher value to you... they go with Pilot Sports.

Either way... They both good tires still.

DrLove...
From where in PR are you from? I know a DrLove from Ponce, but he is a Maxilofacial surgeon!

Any good MB events down there?

hi all, reason why i posted here was to gauge some personal recommendations for the s-03 and pilots, not the recommendations of someone/people who sell the tires and probably have a financial reason to push one brand over the other- either through higher margins or volume incentives from bridgestone... i found some pilots which are cheaper to put on than the s-03s, but am having a hard time deciding which one to go for.

I've done my share of research and my conclusion was that the next set of tires I'll put on are Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. They are cheaper than both of the aforementioned, but according to my research offer great handling, wet traction, and comfort. Also the tread pattern looks sick! I have the OE Pilot Sports right now. They are very quiet and the ride is some what comfortable, but the sidewall is too flexy. Look into the Goodyears before you make your decision.

All I see are a bunch of your fellow owners trying to help you out. Furthermore, there's a tremendous amount of data out there already. This topic has been discussed time and time again. Search the posts here and in the W203 forum. Check the owner reviews on tirerack.

I myself am going to look at the Goodyear tires as I've been seeing very positive feedback on the boards and at tirerack.
