How do I loosen the belt tensioner?
#2
The tensioner is located at about 2 o-clock to the crank pulley.
Best way:
Use the 17mm? nut as the pivot rather than the torx.
If you find that it slips when turned counterclockwise to release the tension, first tighten the nut (by going clockwise). This will assure that it wont turn when you move the tensioner.
If you use the tensioner's torx bolt as the tension release, be sure to 1) use the smallest torx socket that fits 2) be sure the socket doesn't slip 3) be wary because the torx bolt shaft is barely able to take the required torque.
