New C55 Owner! Someone please help me

Hi everyone!

Excited to be a part of the MB community. I have made the switch from multiple other German cars to an MB finally!

I could not be more impressed with the C55. I picked it up last night and I just cant get myself to stop driving it. The fit and finish of the interior is far superior to my previous BMWs and Audi's, and the POWER!!! Amazing.

With that said, I have a slight problem. Last night the radio (no nav) was lighting up fine ( the white letters ) where you can see what radio station you are on, or cd track. Anyway today i got in the car and its just little orange lines that are barely visible. I turned it off then on again and it came back for a little while then when out again.

I did hit a dip kind of hard ( i was going slow) but it happened right after that so I am thinking (hoping) maybe just a loose connecter? But if anyone has insight please share!

Here is the first picture!

Odd, you may have a unit that has the display going out. There are quite a few units out there on ebay and LKQonline for sale (I even have one here myself). You may want to take advantage though and try to find an OEM navi unit, MSCII. It will make your dash look so much nicer.

Also, I love the white. I wish I would've been able to find one. Post more pix!

Thanks Viper. Ill take a look at what is out there. I love the white too! I was so shocked to find one, or really a C55 at all in my area, so I had to jump on it. Loving everything else though, for a 6 or 7 year old car it sure does get alot of attention. Everytime I pull in the driveway one of my neighbors comes out to take a look. Thanks for the kind words. More pics tomorrow when it is light out.

If you end up needing one... I have an audio 20 unit also, was the OEM unit delivered with the car and replaced less than a year after ownership with an MCSII unit.

Alabaster FTW! There aren't too many of us around Congrats and welcome aboard, can't wait to see more pics of the car! I agree with Viper, that is an odd problem. Sounds like an internal connection for the display is loose, but I haven't heard of this happening before...good luck!

thanks gnma! Well the issue is "solved" for now. Just took her out for a quick spin and everything is working properly. Hope it stays that way. I really can't stop going out to the garage and just looking at the c55. It is truly amazing.

I know! I have already spent hours trying to decide what direction I want to go. But I want to get some small issues ironed out first. I did some searching on some of the issues I am having but please feel free to chime in!

1. The radio display issues ( it is finicky, sometimes no issues, sometimes no display )

2. My HIDs are pointing way to low. They are not leveling at all. I understand the sensor is underneath the car and from some research it may just be a bad senser, and nothing actually wrong with the headlights but i need to get this fixed.

3. My sunroof wont one touch close ( the dealer is already aware of this one and is supposed to fix it for me )

4. My center console trim, aluminum just the big piece around where the shifter is located has some scratches. Driving me nuts, only imperfection on the interior.

5. My emblem in the front and the little chrome trim that runs around the car has some oxidation.

6. My front lower fascia grill in the middle is pushed in and off one of the clips.

What I have already accomplished:

1. Got the exhaust tips looking new ( they had never been polished )

2. Wash and wax this morning

3. Figured out I can't get enough of the power, and its best not to look at the MPG meter.

What'd you use on the exhaust tips? I'm always looking for suggestions on products / applications to get that brand new chrome shine

I used the "Chrome Polish" from turtle wax. It took a lot of effort to get them shiny, the previous owner had never cleaned them. But overall it is a big difference!

My c32 ones are covered in black crap. I am using autosol and they are slowly coming right. 90% of it is looking great but when it starts to roll in is taking a long time to get back to the metal.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I have remedied the headlight and sunroof issue! So thats a good thing. The radio display is on and off but whatever. I have done some searching but what does everyone do with those little city lights in the inner part of the headlight that glow amber? Any suggestions. Also all my emblems are a little oxidized. I am going with a flat badge on the hood, but any suggestions on a good source to replace the rear emblems?

I took it to the dealer and they reprogrammed it. To be honest it still does it one out of fifteen times, but its much better.
