Hey now, there is nothing wrong with the HKS mushroom, they will do a great job of filtering.... you know.... gravel, bolts, large pieces of metal, things like that.

Mushrooms of Doom have been known to distengrate over time, breaking up into little pieces as a result of high underhood temps. Usually the mushrooms are attached to Turbochargers as with my T78 which can eat up your wheel or in this case go back into the Supercharger.

a bit salty...I've actually spoken to a company who designs inline filters...seems a worthwhile effort to pick up those discussions again as you'd think this could be done a bit cheaper (not taking away from th3 R&D here, Needswings seems a good company and i'm happy with the one product I have by them so far....just thinking to save some cash).

Maybe a group buy (take the sting out???)

Too late for me. I pulled the trigger last night. When Fluid Motor Union came out with there's I had priced the filters out and they were like $250 a piece. Add that to all the custom fabrication and I figured the price isn't that crazy.

I don't really see a problem with the price, granted it is expensive, than again so are all mods for AMGs.

It out flows the SL55 intake, and to find one of those complete which will take time will run you $400-450. An extra 400 to get something that performs better and looks pretty darn cool too? Sign me up.

Wow at the price. Regardless, whats the gains for an intake like this?

It depends what mods you already have on your car. With my mods I'll be happy if I cut 0.1 sec of my 1/4 time.

HP or CFM. We know it flows better BUT without a larger throttle body and the ability to push/pull more air through the system, I am not sure the HP gains will be that great.

I recall Brandon's Code 3 intake adding about +6 HP on average. I can see the Needswings unit doing at least that, BUT is it significant enough for $900 clams???

Group buy and I too am in!!!

Some people clam up to 35hp from an intake. That seems way too high to me. These are mostly cars with no mods at all though. I guess we need dyno results. I might look at getting this intake one day but at the moment it is too expensive.

Mine just came in. Looks super. Quality job. Rob is the man. I already had a set of mani's already cut off that I picked up for little $ when TVT was closing his shop. Rob took care of me in that department too. Will report back in a month when I complete the rest of the winter project.

WOW, the red is nice! I'm SO tempted to drive to Detroit to get Needswings to fab up something for the C55/CLK55! Can't wait to see your gains!
