Some sort of fluid leak? Help! Pics!
Hey Guys, So I took off my wheels to clean them this morning, looked on the underside of my car and found some sort of leak... It doesn't appear to be oil and is greenish in color. Not sure though, just could look like it on the ground.
Take a look at the pics and see what you think.
I just installed TCU software and a pulley from Eurocharged but that shouldn't have anything to do with this leak...
Is this something I should be worried about and not drive the car?
Please help and thank you in advance!

Did you take off the panel to see where to puddle starts on top side? Hate to say it but kind of looks like power steering fluid. Not a fun task to deal with at all if so. I would know...

The oil was changed about 5000 miles or so. In the next week or two I am going to do it again, but I haven't had an oil leak before so idk. Is it possible for the bolt to just become loose by itself?
Regarding the power steering, what is wrong with it? Did something just come loose or is there an actual part thats gone bad.
By the way, could it be trans fluid? I heard trans fluid is red and this clearly is not lol so I'm just making sure.

Well... I had several issues including 185MM slicing the main pressure line, bad pump, leaking reservoir, and bad pressure line seal at rack. Your issue if it is power steering would likely be o-ring for pressure line at rack. Solution? New pressure line for several hundred as the correct o-ring(s) cannot be sourced. Tried new ring with failure...

No problem, and I would recommend not driving the vehicle until you find the source of the leak. If it is in fact power steering leaking that also means air is likely to enter the system. That will destroy your pump. Easiest way to do an initial inspection is by checking fluid level in the reservoir. Will only take a few minutes...
Detach driver side air intake front tube. Pull up on air box to release it from the clamps. Power steering reservoir is located directly underneath. Check with engine off. There are two indicators. One is for cold check, and other is engine at operating temperature.

Very simple, check the front of the engine to see if you have a leak. If your power steering pump is leaking, then you will have residue all around the pump. Check the valve covers to see if you have any oil residue there. Check your oil cooler to see if there is any oil coming from there. Could also be the trans pilot bushing, very easy fix, but you'll need to get mb trans fluid.

My car was leaking right there too. It was the rear main seal on the trans, replaced it and no more leaking. However that's no easy task...

So they did a transmission service. Replace 4.5 quarts of gear oil, as well as a new trans filter, gaskets, and some electrical part. Parts alone came to around $130, and labor was $297. Total with tax was roughly $450.
It seemed like they did a good service. They dropped the transmission pan and did all of that good stuff. At 83k miles, I figured it was some good preventive maintenance.
After I brought my car home, I thought changing my oil would be a good idea too

did they replace the electrical connector pilot housing? 10$ part and always leaks. fluid will creep up the electrical lines and toast the tcu. fwiw the trans flush takes about 1.5 hr total so their labor is a tad high!
