Altitude tune for c32 amg

I recently bought a 2003 c32 amg. its moded with 181mm pulley Jerry tune ,johnson pump, larger exchanger and custom exhaust. The car was initially set up at 18 ft elevation .Where I live the elevations average over 2000 ft. Do I need to have the ecu flashed for the higher elevations? So far no issues, but seems to run slightly richer due tothe thinner air. thanks dusty

I informed Eurocharged of my areas altitude 5000+ft, and they did adjust tune. Not sure if an adjustment would be required for 2000ft. Give them a call and found out. Don't forget too that the tune has improved over time. So if it's outdated I do suggest retune.

c32 amg
thanks for the info. I called and I should be OK up to 3500'. The tune and pulley upgrade was done in april '11. should be OK. Now, if I can find "dip sticks " for the engine and tranny , I guess its an "old school" thing ,but I work with level sensors, all types and they can and do give false readings. thanks again for your help. dustyr

On fuel injected cars once you set a tune you should not have to touch it. This is what a mass air sensor is for.

mass air flw sensor

Agreed, fuel injected cars are affected less by altitude than carburated ones. The mass air flow does compensate to a large degree to altitude changes, but establishing a new ecu baseline allowes the sensor to operate in a more efficient way. instead of the ecu getting a lean signal all the time at higher elevations where you live, the ecu now "sees" a normal mixture at altitude. This recenters all operating parameters resulting in better engine management in other words MORE POWER !!
