so even if the tcu is set at 6700 its limiting at 6400? and you are a braver man then me no way i run 13 afr and higher at anything other than idle!

I have it and I was hoping someone on this forum would have it fixed by now so the same could be done to my car.

Does Eurocharged have remote TCU tuning?

No remote tuning for TCU yet. Only ECU.

So who is controlling the shift points ECU or TCU?
To my understanding, The ECU is overriding the TCU settings even if the TCU is set to shift at higher RPMs 6800, 6900?

TCU controls shift points. ECU controls the rev limit. Hence if the rev limit is lower than the shift points you are going to have a bad time.

For the ones that have the tcu tune is your C-mode the old winter mode, which seems to be how mine is. I'm assuming its ok to leave it in this being comfort even though it always takes off in second gear, which does make for a smoother take for regular driving. Just wondering you'll had any thoughts on this.

With the TCU tune the car no longer takes off in second in any mode unless you put it in M and then 2nd manually. S and C take off in 1st gear.

Ok, it just seems to take off alot softer, and smoother in c-mode, and not shift as quickly through the gears when normaly driven. Maybe its all in the way the program is set up for c-mode.

I'm 99.9% sure my car takes stays in second gear all the way to a complete stop in Comfort Mode even with the TCU tune. Try stopping in C and then moving to S or M and you should feel it shift to 1st.

Justsaymo01 - I use Comfort Mode 80% of the time and only move to Sport or Manual for spirited driving.

Maybe I am remembering it wrong but I thought Jerry told me that is how it worked.

A semi hijack of thread;
Chris, it’s been about 6 weeks since I last asked you regarding the TCU tune cure for the tranny jerk.. Is it still smooth sailing? To hassle you further (instead of me emailing Jerry again) have you heard of any further developments regarding the remote compatibility for the TCU tune. Hoping EC will concentrate on that path once all bugs ironed out.

Well I was at the shop today working on further development of the headers and we talked briefly about the TCU and ECU tunes. What I can tell you is there is no current option for remote TCU tuning but it's a top priority for the guys. We're also working on getting the shift points back to 6500 rpm without the AFR spike and brutal shift. As for the rough shift at low RPM's, it's still gone after full ECU adaptation and a couple thousand miles on the odometer.

chris it took less than 200 miles for mine to adapt and the shift in d is as oem. smooth. im automanual the shifts are firmer. no lag and no spikes. 6200 rpm tcu shift. ill be at the track march 3 for opening day and should have some good logs to look at

My 1500 jerk is gone with the TCU mod. I just sent it in for the shift point jerk. I will let you know if the 1500 jerk is still gone after I get it back.

It's at 1500 still... Mine was gone before, but the new software has it again.

I've had it go away after transmission adaption values were reset by MB's TCU flashing/TCU replacement efforts, only to have it return weeks/months later.

If it's gone and stays gone with the new programming, even 2-3 months from now, that'd be terrific news.

Is the TCU tune a solid option now? (all bugs ironed out with the shifts and spikes)

I wish I could tell you but I have not had the time nor want to invest more money in taking my car to a MB dealer/shop with a STAR system. I am told the transmission adaptations need to be reset to fix my last issue.

So at a minimum you should budget for a trip to a shop with the STAR machine if you are thinking of doing the TCU mod.

a land yacht.
my TCU mod is fine (I think) I havent had the a/f ratio checked, and I had my shift points changed back to stock due to hitting the rev limiter....

Other than that, the M mode is nice and the shifts are faster.
