I think the Nav in my C55 is quite good - much better than the one in my Lexus and at least as good as any integrated unit I've used in any car to date. I don't know why it gets bad press from the folks on the forums.

I also have a Garmin (nuvi) and I don't think that is any better than the one in the C55 (or even as good for that matter) - FWIW.

+1! def way better than the "premium sound" package on a comparable e46 M3. i'm always amazed when i see pricy, luxury cars like these that can't get things like nice sound quality right

I was initially very disappointed with the Harman Kardon sound system. But it turns out that it was mainly the rattling trunk release button that was messing up the sound. The difference was night and day after I "deadened" the button.

But it's still just average sounding at best IMHO. Even the factory premium audio in my Mazda CX-9 (Bose) sounds way better, and I'm not a huge fan of Bose.

I guess my ears were spoiled by my aftermarket sound setup before (Focal Utopia with tube amps and JL W7 sub).

HK is crap. If I could rip it out and keep my factory radio, I would. It takes very expensive adapters to get a good low level output because of the fiber optics that just isn't worth it.

2005 C55 AMG
mpg

I live in Chicago and my car is stock top to bottom. I get 15mpg in the city if I'm not pushing it and about 20mpg on the freeway when driving under 70mph. Full tank to when the low fuel level light comes on I can do 200-230 miles depends on my style of driving

C55 AMG, CLK550
I don't have nav on my C55 and really I don't miss it. I have it on my CLK550 and my Audi and it hardly gets used.
