Check your Belt Tensioner for bad spring
reviving an old post on this Belt Tensioner issue as i'm figuring other C32 owners with high mileage may have this issue but not know so should check this....
I just replaced my tensioner at 112,000 miles and now car drives AMAZING. My tensioner pulley was not noisy, BUT the tensioner spring was shot and very soft and caused all this bouncing and moving around (see video below) since the soft tensioner spring doesnt put the correct tension on the belt.
i replaced this at 112,000 miles on my 03 C32 with the OEM part and HOLY **** did i notice a difference! touch the accelerator at lower or higher speeds the car immediately responds and the power is there, as in the past i had to hit kick down nearly every time to get the car to accelerate properly. The power steering seems stronger too with this new tensioner as mine was very weak before.
here is the OEM part #1122001070 and can buy for about $250. Pretty easy DIY install say 30-60 mins. would recommend a long 2 foot wrench or serpentine belt tool to give you enough leverage to release the tensioner from the belt. to hold the tensioner in released position you must find the small hole on the mounting to put in the retaining pin which can be tricky, but after that its just removing 2 torx bolts and it comes off and you pop the new one on.
still love this car at 13 years old and it still drives like a beast!
