Click sound inside the dash / console

Dear all,

Mine is 02 c32 and 68000km mileage. Starting to have clicking noise inside the dash for 20-30 seconds when car just start up. The AC no cold at first 20-30 minutes. Searched some threads and know it should be the famous common fault for earlier w203, the AC flaps linkage / stepping motors breakage.....

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...g-hissing.html

Understand the instruction how to replace them from the web link and I have planned to replace all the linkage, but I would like to ask:
1) how many linkage totally needed for C32AMG?
2) how many pieces of motor linkage in one bag of PN:203 830 00 33 ?
3) all the linkage in diff steeping motor are the same ?

Please advise

Regards

Wilsophia

Broken link to footwell air flap.
Chip part but a pain in the butt to change.
2 in one set.
You only need to change 2.

How about the others? Like defroster ....ertc, use the same linkage ? Understand it is a painful job to open the whole console, and I would guess one of them was broken, others are coming..... So, should I go to buy all 10 linkages and replace them all in same time?

Flapper linkages

I did this in my C32 AMG about two years ago. It was so painful to do this, that I vowed never to work on my car again...I didn't keep that vow, but it was painful. I was up until 5AM doing this-took me about 10 hours. Everything is so difficult. Just getting the upholder out took an hour to figure out, even with the mercedes instructions. Finally, I think the C32 has extra support struts that the other C class sedans don't have (as they were not shown on the instructions) that sit directly in front of one of the linkages that left about a 1" gap in which to work to get the old ones off and the new ones on...After that, putting everything back together was a breeze. However, the stereo did not work after I put everything back together. I thought I had forgotten to plug in a wire harness to back of the radio, so I took everything out again. I had put back everything correctly. Then the epiphany...I had blown the radio fuse. Once I replaced the fuse, all was good.
So...Try to be patient and set aside a quiet day to do this. It is a long job-makes sense why the dealer wanted 800 to replace mine (part was 20).

Lizardjack is absolutely right. There are four different flaps, but the footwell flaps are the issue-they come as a pair-one driver, one passenger.
