doing a straight pipe ??
if i did a straight pipe wouldn't the check engine light come on ??? what did nmm do about the o2 sensors ??? did he put in o2 simulators ?? and where can i get them ?? or what would i use ?? thanks for the help.

Yes, California, and most other states now are very strict when it comes to removing the cats. We actually have police trucks that can pull you over at any time to perform a smog-test.
It is in violation of federal law to remove, modify, or replace your cats before 8 years/80,000 miles (all 1995+ cars), unless a legitmate need has been established and documented. Aftermarket catalytic converters are subject to the same laws, and can not legally be replaced if the catalytic converter is still in proper working condition or while the car is still under warranty.
Under section 203(a)(3) of the Clean Air Act, violaters may be subject of a civil penalty of up to $25,000 for each improper installation.
