Spring pads/shims required for H&R coilovers?
Hey guys, just got a set of H&R coilovers, just wondering if any spring pads are required for installation. I'm basically just looking to lower the car so the front and rear fenders just hover over the tires. I have a set of rear #4 pads on hand. In the H&R installation manual it states that spring pads may be required. I haven't read of anyone on here using them, but everyone seems to use them with the H&R springs. I'd like some adjustability, so if I need to extend the coilover all the way to the tallest setting in the back just to acheive a flush look, I'd prefer to throw in the spring pads to give it some adjustability in the future. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
BTW, for anyone wondering about the valving or spring rates, I spoke to the H&R rep about it. He said the shocks are Bilstein and valved comparably to medium-hard stiffness settings on the PSS9's. They are essentially the same suspension kit without the rebound adjustments. Basically, similar to the Bilstein PSS kit at a fraction of the price. Apparently, the H&R and Bilstein factory are close to each other and they love to share parts. Personally, I've always been a fan of H&R products.
