HELP! What's my car worth? '05 C55 w/ 88k miles
Hey guys, I'm thinking about selling my 2005 C55. I got a ridiculously low offer from a dealer on it for a trade in so I think I will try to sell it privately. What do you guys think it's worth? THANKS.
- 2005 C55 w/ 88k miles and counting
- I am the third owner of the car and purchased it when it had 45k miles back in May of '09
- Options: Nav/Harmon Kardon/Auto Wiper/Rear Sunshade/Xenons, 6CD
- Aftermarket Additions:
* Magnaflow 300 Cell High Flow Primary Cats/ Secondary Cat and Resonator Delete/ 2.5 inch custom piping
* Eurocharged ECU Tune
* 19" Forgestar F14 Wheels (I also still have OEM wheels)
* Yellow Calipers w/ AMG logos
* CF Rear Lip Spoiler
* PIAA Yellow Foglights
* K&N Air Filters
* Akebono Ceramic Brake Pads
* Escort ZR4 Laser Shifter
* Hardwired for V1 with Concealed Display in Ashtray Locations
Condition:
EXT: There are a decent about or rock chips on the front bumper and cover. The front bumper cover is cracked on the bottom left side from going up a steep driveway. 3 small dents on the car. Paint is still in very good condition.
INT: Interior still looks almost brand new. Almost no wear can be seen on the driver and passenger seats. The rear seats look brand new.
MECHANICAL: Car has a small RMS oil leak that is common with these cars. I don't think the car is actually leaking oil but the seal is usually wet when the mechanic gives the car an oil change. Oil does not drip off onto the ground when it is parked. I just usually check the oil level once in awhile and top it off. The car is very reliable and has never given me any problems.
SERVICE HISTORY: Car has received an oil change with Mobil1 Synthetic Oil every 5k miles. Engine mounts were replaced not too long ago. Transmission oil flush completed at about 65k miles.

It's sad how these cars aren't worth anything anymore. You're better off keeping the beast and enjoying it till it falls apart.

I think i'd ask 16.5k firm... It's really hard to judge by the auction as there is so few of them and you truly don't know how beat some of the cars are..
If someone feels the car is worth more feel free to chime in.

16.5 is good place to start...but nothing used today is worth what we'd like it to be worth !!
What would you replace it with though? C55s are damn fine machines.

You might still find an enthusiast, no way this kind of vehicle is worth 13k you can't even buy a Hyundai for that. I would wait it out for the right buyer. The car is also bulletproof and limited production. I would never let mine go for that and I have way more mileage than that.

C55 AMG, CLK550
You/ve got some nice stuff there it's the miles that whack it a bit IMHO. I'd ask in the high teens for it... I have one that has 36k miles with a warranty and I would not part with it for under $26k... In other words I'm going to hang on to it at least for now...

HELP!
Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum here and I was hoping I could get some educated opinions. I drive a Lexus LS430 now but I am in the market for another car. I've always loved the C32 and C55. I'm looking at a 2005 C55 and a 2002 C32.
The C32 has about 59,000 miles and is selling for $13,500 but I got the price down to $12,500. The seller will pay half of the shipping cost which is about $500.
The C55 has about 85,000 miles and is selling for $11,995 but I'm sure I can get the price down another $500. I would have to pay for the entire shipping cost so I will essentially be paying the same amount overall for either car.
What are your thoughts on which is a safer bet? I do like the interior of the C55 more and the exterior is somewhat nicer because of the paint and wheels. Unfortunately, I will need to have both of the vehicles inspected by an independent mobile car inspector because they are both outside of California.
I guess my question is, on average which car do you think is more reliable? I know that question is nearly impossible to answer, but give it your best shot.
The C32 is obviously supercharged which seems like 1 more part to have issues with. I have heard of some electrical issues with both models and a radiator problem with the C32, however the current owner already replaced the radiator.

For the me your car worth whatever the price you want..the market price is a different thing.
I was going to sell my car but after some friends talk me out about my decision because my car is rare and now i really think i will never gonna sell it.
I prefer to keep it in the garage for ever that selling it to a ricer kid.
My advice: If you can afford to keep it..dont sell it!
