C55 vs e55 (w210)

Hi guys,
I have c55 with kleemann headers, no primaries, no secondaries and has a chip tuning
I've raced with one of my friend who has e55 w210 with kleemann headers,no primaries, no secondaries and has a chip tuning as well as mine. In the race my friend beat my c55 with his e55 (w210) 1999 and I was very disappointed.
My question is this normal or there is something wrong in my c55 ?

Best
Regards

They run similar times when stock. Not surprising one may have the upper hand when modded. How bad did he beat you? Could be as simple as his tune is more aggressive. Or, he probably just down shifted faster if it was from a roll. If it was from a dig, I'd say driver mod plays a roll.

Reset your throttle adaptations, and try again.

The W210 E55 has the same motor and tranny as our C55, but VERY different tune. It is tuned for WAY more torque lower down. And they are fairly light if I remember my old days. Not surprised he beat you.

He beat me just a little like half car in front of me and we both have the same mod and tune.
By the way we raced from a roll ( 120 km to 200 km ) and My car response was faster than his but he beat me as well.

have been thinking about this today, I drove a e55 few weeks ago. From 0-120 mph the c55 is diffenetly a few sec's faster stock vs stock. maybe he started abit earlier? next time to best out of 5 runs or something, just to be sure it's fair. somebody has got to clear this out lol! this topic makes me think about buying a e55 again.

The way I figure it.. the C55 is lighter, has an updated/faster transmission, and a few more ponies stock. I think the tune must have been a better fit with supporting mods on that particular E55. My C55 pulls like crazy at freeway speeds, though I've never thrown down against an early E55

a car that can't do the throttle reset.
The 210 E55 was a beast. Older don't really mean its going to be slower.. especially since you're both modded.

I remember when I was still in middle school, someone's Dad got one new. It was my first experience with AMGs. The kid says "its faster than a Vette". I called BS and then saw the W210 E55 leave after class that day. Wicked fast and still understated. I wanted an AMG from that day forward...

It locks like I'm going to sell my c55 and buy w210 e55.
It's more comfort and better handling.
from my little experience if somebody can't decide what to between c55 or e55 w210 I recommend e55 w210

Best
Regards

yeah, nah C55 will out corner a w210 E55. Might spank a w211, but saying so might stir the sh*t

Something sounds weird about that. The C55 is almost 200 lbs lighter and the engines produce almost the same amount of hp and torque. Shouldn't the C55 have the edge? Maybe the tune you have is not optimal for the C55?

Sounds like an AMG owner trolling another AMG owner? This reminds of the good old W202 vs W203 days...

Based on the fact that he is in the market for a 210 55. You know how it goes. Don't feed the troll.

The W210 E55 motor makes 391 ft-lbs. My guess is that its probably a flatter torque curve too, meaning more of it available just off idle.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I still think the engine power figures are pretty similar. I'm not sure if 15lbs of torque would make up for the weight of the E55.

w203 C55 362hp/376lbs of torque. Weight 3,540lbs
w210 E55 349hp/391lbs of torque. Weight 3,746lbs
