New Member Questions

I'm a new member, but hv been reading here for sometime and have found this forum to be extremely valuable with so much knowledge.
I do have two questions about my 2005 C-55.
1. I hv the electric tilt steering wheel, it only moves about 1 inch up and down, the motor runs and stops at the end of travel. The dealer said may be the motor is defective?
2. Are the AMG 5.5 badges still available, or is this an old thead thats dead?

Thank you for all the great posts

Hi.
1. Yes, maybe it is.
2. Possibly. 203 AMG member is/was selling them. Search the forum. You might get lucky and find a set available from him. This thread isn't old. But it is pretty much dead. I saved it.

You're welcome for the great posts.

Turbo16lbs is the member that has the badges now. The thread should have been post to within the last month. PM him and he will respond in a day or so.

another noob

I don't feel like a noob since I've been trolling the site for so long, there are so many great posts, and so much information that petty much most of my questions had already been explained. I do however have a few stupid questions. First I'm curious how you guys are posting your profile pics with just a 100x1000? I can't seem to make them that small... And second is a real question, how much does it roughly cost to replace the motor mounts? Is this a notorious issue with the C55? Seems to me about once a week my car will vibrate at low speeds for about 10 minutes, than just disappear...any thoughts on that? Or am I way off base here?

You can re-size pics for you avatar or profile using something as simple the "Paint" app that comes with any Windows PC. Just put in the number of pixels you want on the re-size window and you will be fine.

As to the other questions, that is open to the members that have dealt with those issues....

I thought the profile pics auto-resize. If not, link the pic you want. I'll do it for ya.

Depends on where you do it. I did mine at the dealer cause I enjoy overpaying. I believe I paid $700ish. Is it notorious? Not really. But they need to be changed. Its a fact of life. Vibrates.. then doesn't.. thoughts? Yeah, don't be so serious. I'll say this though, changing the motor mounts made a huge difference in feel for me.

This is good info, my quote by the best Benz specialist out here was $650 and I need to schedule it soon myself. I have been putting it off due to cost and worry that the replacements will fail (though they use quality parts) Good to hear it made a difference in feel!

Its definitely worth doing. I have gone through two sets already, so they will fail again at some point. Feel is night and day. Huge reduction in up and down bounce over bad spots in the road.
