Buying a C55, need help!
Hello everyone, I am in the process of looking at a white on black 2005 C55 AMG at a local specialty car dealer. The car has 98,000 km and is a one owner car. They have full service history of the car. The car is mint inside and out aside from one wheel being very lightly curbed and most of the exhaust having surface rust on it. I have seen the history of this car and it has had one $360 claim for the right door mirror - that's it! The car drives perfectly. They will include a full professional detailing of the car.
I offered $20,000 (Canadian) for the car. The dealer counter offered $20,500. Is it worth it? I felt it was not since guides like KBB were valuing the identical car in "exellent condition" at $19,800 (US) suggested retail. I am located in Canada and all of our price guides are kind of suck since they don't factor in condition. Is the car worth that extra $500? or am I just already paying too much?![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Thanks!

Canadian pricing always varies a bit from the US. I recently asked Mercedes directly - there were less than 100 C55s officially imported to Canada, making them quite rare.
I paid C$23k for my '05 with about 96,000km on it back in the fall of 2011. I'm seeing other C55s with more mileage asking about $20k too. I think $20k-ish is about right, especially if the car is in excellent condition.
Where are you located?

So a white C55 with 60894 miles for 20,500. Which is $20,467.26 USD. I say that is fair.
I think the dealer was just trying to squeeze a bit more out of you. But if you had a check for 20k ready, he may budge.
Either way its a decent price. And white is rare.. they are usually silver or black.. and sometimes red.. white is pretty rare for this car.

Online from Formymercedes.com
The general consensus is to buy one of their emblems, then remove the double sided tape that it comes with, then use your own adhesive to apply it. I think I used two part epoxy. Here's the link:

Post up pix when/if you buy the car! Scratch that....WHEN you buy it!

Thanks, will do
One more thing...
There is a noise coming from the steering system which is most noticeable when turning the steering wheel while stationary and there is a very slight vibration from the wheel while driving.
How serious is this?

Ask dealer to top off power steering fluid - small amount can make a difference - and test to see if the noise has gone away. Need to be sure he uses the right stuff.
Vibration is either out-of-round wheel (especiallly at slower speeds) or out of balance tire (more noticeable at higher speeds.) Have dealer check both and see if they go away.

Thanks for the help guys ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I didn't go for the one that I was talking about earlier and got a much better deal on this one. You guys are calling a white on black Canadian C55 rare, I had two to choose from here in BC.
The noisy power steering was actually just the the fact that the fluid was low. Here is the benz the day I picked it up.
