What's your price range? I've been thinking of selling my LMs with the tires but the barrels need a refinish due to a few bends and chips (not rash).

Gotcha. Sorry even in the condition my LMs are in I'd be asking more than your budget. Good luck with finding wheels, post some pics when you do!

Are yours original LM's or imitation? Imitation would be in my budget, original BBS not..

Haha, there's my answer. Too bad, thanks anyway.. Its a real pain in the *** to find a good set for a reasonable price.. I hate myself for missing out on Mike's set 19s that he sold.

Hey Bob- You need to be really careful about clearing the big front brakes. Once you get past that, then it is tough not to poke out past the fender. Any kind of a lip is very tough. I went through massive efforts to get my new wheels to fit, had to pull the fenders about 10mm among other things. Let me know when you find that you like, as I have a pretty firm understanding as to what will fit.

Yea, sounds great Mike. You got hands on experience, never owned a car that was so difficult to find the right wheels for. I actually met up with a guy when I was still in PHX, he was selling his 19s with 225 and 255 from his 06 C230. His car had stock big break calipers as well, with a close fit. Look like the hub and distance were the same, we met up at discount Tires, waited for an hour, ended up on a really good price, 500..!! Then had the guys from discount fit them on, rear was good, looked sick, front, no fit, nit in a million years. So all for nothing...

After that I send you an email about the wheels, since i realized how diff it would be to find the right wheel.. You had just sold them a day before..

So the quest continues, might keep the stock wheels, replace rear tires and have them painted or powerdercoated in black. Lowered with your springs and flat black grill that should look good, changing the center-caps then also in black Amg style as the front badge.. Would also save me time and effort to try to sell my set original wheels. Im still making up my mind, but if it keeps being suck a pain in the ... Will prob go this path, although i prefer to get a better deal and have 19s on the car.

As a know, I will go to extremes to get the mods I want. I purchased a Eastwood fender roller and an infrared thermometer(to monitor temps as I heated the paint). With Phister's input, I was able to roll and pull each of the 4 corners about .5". Came out great, and made it possible to fit my new wheels. Fronts clear by .125", flush to the fenders. In the rear, Iam tucking about 1" of tire, can't fit your pinky, no rubbing. I would be willing to loan the tools, and any advice I can provide. Not that hard to do, just need to be very careful. Once this procedure is complete, you have many more wheel options.

Hey Mike, how are you? No luck on the wheels yet, think my best option is to look for 2nd hand set when Im back and try to fit them in the spot. So not sure when I ll be back again, but also consider looking for a set in SD, since we have friends living there and Cali is more in too mods on cars and have more sets available on CL..

I prefer buying 2nd hand and save some money.. I think I wanna go for 18s, 19s all black, looks nice with contrast on a silver car.

So if you come across something nice, whenever its a good deal. Don't have my mind set on a specific kind of set. So if you spot something plz do let me know! Also if its not black, if its a good deal Im open for suggestions..
