Can you explain WHY I would need a big spending account?

Well the C55 got sold out from underneath me but a CLK55 AMG coupe just came up on the radar and the C32 is still for sale. The CLK55 looks pretty sharp, I really like the interior and the no pillar deal between the front and rear windows. I sold my 07 R1 yesterday so the bigger price won't be an issue, and I can keep my payments the same. Anybody driving one of these with high mileage? I'd really like to keep something like this for awhile. I'm assuming the CLK55, and C55 are the same mechanically.

I know your pain... when I was getting my next merc I first had to sell the C36 to get the needed money for the down payment. I was looking at a 2006 CLK55 convertible. Unfortunately it was sold the day I sold my C36.. It all worked out in the end.. I'm happy with my C55.

Do a bit of research.. the one to get I think is 2004. That has the upgraded interior and exterior. Plus a quad exhaust setup. And yes most if not all of the CLK55 components are the same as the C55.

Its 2005 not 2004.

This is the newest one I could find in a 200 mile search radius on autotrader for around my price range. I know they switched to the seven speed tranny in 05(which would be nice, I didn't know they changed the interior, the interior in the one I'm looking at now is really nice. The exhaust will get changed regardless lol, and I wanna get the carbon fiber diffuser any way.

Don't think they had the 7spd paired with the M113. Pretty sure that came with the CLK63. In 05 it was just a few cosmetic updates.

There are a few reputable businesses that make or sell OEM parts for reasonable prices. Still not as cheap as cavalier parts but they aren't that bad. That's the one good thing about getting an older Mercedes. Companies like ECS and few others I can't think of right now sell OEM or better parts much cheaper than a dealer or some of these other places.

I've never been in a C55, but I'd choose the C32 and mod it with the couple of grand you save.
Their isn't anything the C55 provides, besides V8 noise, that the C32 cannot when modded.
I'd buy some nice coilovers, and then some tuning / sc pulley. I'm sure the C55 is a great car, but the C32 has a lot more mod potential.
In terms of reliability, this car has been golden and I drive it hard a lot of the time.

When changing the pulley for more psi is there any tuning that has to be done to the ecu? Or does it adjust the fuel on it's own up to a certain psi?

Very nice!! You'll have fun with that car. Lots of things you can pick from for modifications. And service will be relatively cheap. Very good choice.

Idk...I thought about it. I'm not even sure if they'll clear the front brakes to be honest. They're already off of the 240. It looks like the clk55 would look nicer with a different type of wheel.
