S/C oil change oil level
Last weekend I replaced the Sc bearing ,serpentine belt and changed the oil in the sc. I also washed out all the road salt and crud in the radiator, condenser, and HE. I jacked up the ***-end of the car and got the SC level before filling it. I over filled it and let the excess drain back out. Is this the correct way to get the correct amount of oil in the SC. thanks

This is what happened twice (2 refills) for me and no issues. The second time was when the blower was off and it all looked ship shape, runs fine etc. The first refill previous to this would have been about a year ago. There are threads on it but nothing to suggest that it is part of MB maintenance so I don't think or recall any documented specifics on the s/c oil level. Maybe IHI could have some info if it exists in English. https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...rger-info.html

All I can say is put butyl or other tacky adhesive inside the plug before attempting to re insert plug. I dropped mine behind the crank pulley. Took a couple days to find it.

thanks for the info guys. so far no issues. Now Ive got the dreaded IC leak, so I have opened up the isolation valves so not to run the Johnson cm30 pump dry. Ill be pulling the sc off soon.
