The Heat is Coming - I need suggestions on sun protection!
I made an arrangement with my girlfriend back when I had three motorcycles and an apocalypse-ready Miata: I get to have three bikes (stuffed in the end of our deep single car garage) and she gets the garage space for her VW. It didn't matter that I parked the '95 mx5 outside because the paint looked like hell anyway.
Since I leave for work first, and arrive home last- nothing has changed on the parking front. Except for my daily driver. With the first anniversary of C55 ownership just around the corner, I realized I better look after it more during the summer months.
I was going to get a sunshade at the very least. I didn't know if any aftermarket ones fit worth a damn, or if I should stick with an $$$ MBZ one. I don't think I am going to go with a full cover like I have on the KG, but any shade or protection suggestions are appreciated.

I have a aftermarket, thick sunshade that isolates a lot of heat. My car is in AZ, been stable 110 last weeks. Had to give up my garage since we temporarily had to move out of the house for my GF sister and kids. So i bought a 50 dollar car cover from ebay, fits like an absolute glove, and when I leave the car I put it on in 1min. Just to protect against the intense sun here..

A window cover would be a good way to go, an aftermarket one will fit just fine no need to dump money on a MB one.
I would look into a good detail with a paint protectant for the summer months. I'm not a big fan of car covers because if the car is not absolutely spotless they will scratch your paint with any wind. A quality pain protectant will protect your paint from the sun and heat for the summer months just fine.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions! I am going to start with a sunshade and work from there. The car could really use a wax- which will be next in line after an interior leather conditioning.
