Are the front lower control arm bushings fluid/oil filled?

Found some nasty dark oil spots on my floor this morning; jacked up the car expecting a busted gasket or rear main seal, but I can't find any trails dripping down. Everything seems to be contained in the cavity that holds the front wheel, driver side, rear lower control arm bolt and bushing.

Are these fluid filled?

Actually after looking a little more last night, it looks like it's actually the motor mounts. Sound about right?

I can't say for our cars, but fluid-filled motor mounts are pretty common. They are better at vibration isolation than solid rubber.

The control arm bushings aren't fluid filled. When I replaced mine I used W203 control arm bushings so I'm sure. (170 bushings came out) The motor mounts are filled with fluid so you hit the nail on the head the second time.

yeah both my motor mounts ruptured this week doing the starter. the passenger side because I had to remove it... and I guess the driver side because I jacked the motor up 1/4 inch to support it while I removed the mount.

Is it ok to drive on the current motor mounts while I wait for my order to come in, or will that damage anything?

The control arm bushings on these cars are filled with fluid as are the motor mounts. No, it will not hurt anything to drive the car as is for a short while but if it is the bushing vs. the mount it could be affecting your alignment and wear the tires.

Alignment is pretty straight and jiggling the wheel and control arm is solid. No clunking while turning, etc, so I'm pretty sure it's the motor mount now. Motor mount still looks big though and not flattened out like a pancake, but I'm sure that'll change soon.

Have you not replaced the motor mounts before? Aren't you over 100k miles?

Nope, hadn't had to yet. Currently at 119k, but never had anything signal they were out yet'. A majority of the last 70k have been highway miles, so the lack of engine torquing I think is what had prolonged life.

I apologize if I gave incorrect information. My car is a 2006 (Crossfire) and I know many models of MB's use the same bushings. Mine aren't fluid filled. I even drilled one to be sure. The picture shows the originals that came out of my car, the original A arms with the replacement bushings. The part number on the originals is 202 333 64 14 the replacements I purchased are A 170 330 00 75. Currently I have Kmacs on the car that I installed in a spare set of A arms. Who has the part No. for the C55, out of curiosity?
