Anyone else have trouble with Mityvac during oil change?
So after years of advocating the drain plug method I decided (because now my wife has an '08 R350) to get a mityvac 7201 evacuator for changing oil on our cars. Figured over time those extra minutes will add up now that I'll be changing oil on MB cars more often.
Well so far It cost me an hour with no result. I messed with this thing a bunch and just was not able to get it to pump out any oil from the C32. I tested it in a bottle of new oil and was able to get oil in the line (I let it go halfway and pumped it back out).
I'm using the black capped tube at the back of the engine bay that is up against the left side of the S/C toward the back...I'm pretty sure that's the one for oil extraction (correct?)
Anyone else have trouble with this on a C32? Also, when I test the suction of the device up against my cheek, it is VERY weak...normal?
Well I ended up doing the drain plug method again, but wanted to see what you all thought about the mityvac.

Yes it is the plug at the back of the supercharger and not the one by the firewall.
You must have an air leak. Mine would suck the oil up fairly quickly initially, it would still take about 20 mins to get it all out of the engine though. I only like it because it is so easy and 100% clean. I can't help but put oil everywhere if I drain it. I don't mind that it still takes a while to do (or at least mine does).

It sounds like you are trying to extract from the correct location.
I always loosen the filter before extracting, to allow more air in and ease the Mityvac's job. It is a slow process. I pump it several times during the 15-20 minutes it takes to remove all 8+ quarts.
