Mine is finally in AU, Chicago customs held it for a week - no fault of Rudy or Speed driven ofcourse, I saw the quality as my indie ordered one a month earlier for another 32. It was a very pretty piece of kit. Happydays......

Small intercooler improvement idea for the C32 & SLK32

After purchasing the Needs Wings supercooler & adding the better pump, of course the OEM factory intercooler started leaking. I talked to several folks and decided to put in the Speedriven direct replacement (OBTW it's a great unit) however here is a cheap trick that will really make a difference. We all know that the intercooler's get heat soaked being under the supercharger and on top of the engine block. So buy a piece of 12" X 12" HP heatshield mat (760-751-0441) (it's peel & stick) (but clean the intercooler please), I used house hold alcohol. You should be able to measure/cut to fit first- then take the backing off. Trust me you'll notice the difference and the intercooler works so much more efficiently not being heat soaked. If you really really want to prove it, put in two temp gauges (I/O) and look at the difference in water temp's and cooling, That will make you a believer.

Any chance these units are still available? My C32 recently developed a coolant loss (about a 1/2 cup of coolant every 2 months for the last 4 months). I would be highly interested in this unit as a replacement.

Thanks,

Nicholas

Unfortunately im in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. (US) but if I can't find anything else I may be contacting you anyway. If you have a price in mind you're welcome to PM me though.

Thanks for your timely reply!

Nick - the OEM part number for the intercooler is 1125000000 for the C32.

if you havent found a unit yet, perhaps try contacting these MB parts internet wholesalers and see if they have them in stock, as they do offer them and one for as low as $780. Since you're in Chicago you should also give Speedriven a call who is in Palatine and see if they are still making their intercooler unit.

OMG

I would Stay away from Speed driven for anything!! I had to get an lawyer through the Florida Sheriffs Association to get my "still under warranty" supercharger intercooler back from them. The clown then lied to my attorney by stating the one I sent in to them didn't leak, that's funny as the last three guys got the same story. Or intercooler?? You be the judge!

Most of what I can make out from this rambling comment might be true- and might have something to do with why the office people (me!) and techs (Tom and Sebastian!) replaced whoever was here before over the last 12 months or so.

there are of course some good and bad shops out there unfortunately, BUT i personally have *never* had any bad experiences with Speedriven or the service work they've done on my C32 the past three years or so....Marcin is awesome as is Konrad and those guys know these cars better than anyone. i didnt purchase one of their intercoolers so cannot comment on those, but just wanted to share my experience with SD....

Thanks for the love! If/when the time ever comes for the intercooler (hopefully not), I'm sure you'll find it to be excellent.

are there any threads that back up this product? before and after IATs? I read thru the entire r/d on this product and apparantly there are more then a few units out there installed. I like the idea and it seems like a well thought out design, but is it large enough to actually drop IATs?

The speedriven core is smaller than the stock core. It MIGHT outperform a stock, clogged up cooler but i guess a new, stock intercooler outperforms the speedriven unit. Fitment is also not perfect but it doesn't leak (for the last two years) and thats what makes me happy.

I bought an intercooler from kompressor for my Mercedes c32 amg last year.
I bought it because the original consumed me refrigerant liquid.
For some months now I have noticed that the Speedriven intercooler also consumes coolant.
Have you had any similar case?
I would need another intercooler, it seems that the one that sold me has a leak.
I need another intercooler to send me, do you need my intercooler that they sold me?

before putting the new SD intercooler I put the keys of Needswings to make two independent systems of engine cooling and kompressor / supercharger
The previous owner was broke in ic Garret series, that's why I put those keys
also change larger watercooler and pump Johnson CM30
I mean I do not understand how the new Speedriven intercooler could break.... 🤷🏻*♂️I know more than 20 c32 amg from a club in Spain and only one change ic for the original Garret and now it has no problems
